Radio 1 is an atrocious gatekeeper. They see themselves on it like the arbiters of what's cool and who's cool. Their decisions on what and who to snub are made by swinging around a cat in a candle lit room on every third Thursday of every second month and seeing where its shadow lands.

"Hips Don’t Lie wasn’t playlisted and whilst it was no.1, they did a segment where they asked people in the street why they like the song so much. She Wolf was then playlisted in 2009:

God they are PATHETIC!!! They really do try, like the old police man doing a drugs bust at a school, to try and fit in and be cool, and end up looking ridiculous.
