Gary Barlow and Colbie Caillat have joined forces for a heartfelt new single, “If There’s Not a Song About It.” The track blends Barlow’s signature pop-ballad style with Caillat’s warm, country-infused vocals, creating an emotional yet uplifting song about parting ways on good terms.

A Song About Love and Letting Go

Gary Barlow first began writing the song in his London studio, drawing inspiration from a close friend’s experience with a breakup that wasn’t filled with resentment, but rather mutual respect and gratitude. Realizing the depth of the song’s theme, Barlow teamed up with Colbie Caillat and Gavin DeGraw to complete the lyrics and melody, ultimately shaping it into a country-pop ballad.

Caillat shared her excitement about the collaboration, expressing how the song resonates deeply with her. “I’ve experienced relationships that ended not with heartbreak, but with appreciation for what we shared. This song perfectly captures that sentiment. Working with Gary was a dream, and our voices blended so naturally on this track.

If There’s Not a Song About It” marks the first single from Barlow’s upcoming EP, set to be released later this year. The project is expected to showcase Barlow’s evolution as a songwriter, exploring a variety of emotions and musical influences.

I’m giving this beautiful ballad a 6/10.

I love the message of the song, and the two voices blend together perfectly. It’s very radio-friendly, and I hope it does well on country radio in the U.S.

"If There's Not A Song About It" lyrics

It's quarter to eleven and I'm watchin' us fall apart

Too early to give up, but too late to have a change of heart

I still believe we can put everything aside we can't

Always somewhere in the middle or waitin' for the end to start

It's just like drivin' with no hands on the wheel

It's just like lovin', but you don't know what to feel

But I still feel

If there's not a song about it

Reason or rhyme, nothing describes

If there's not a way to say that

All will be found, we've had our time

Walls might be comin' down

But we're still on solid ground, woah

If there's not a song about it

There is now

I know everything that's comin', just another sleepless night

Lookin' for the answer every time I close my eyes

I'm still searchin' for something that can't be found

I see you leavin' and I try callin' out

But I can't make a sound

II there's not a song about it

Reason or rhyme, nothing describes

If there's not a way to say that

All will be found, we've had our time

Walls might be comin' down

But we're still on solid ground, woah

If there's not a song about it

There is now

If there's not a sing about it

That thing inside nothing describes

If there's not a way to say it

Oh, love of mine, we've had our time

If there's not a song about it

Reason or rhyme, nothing describes

If there's not a way to say that

All will be found, we've had our time

Walls might be comin' down (Walls might be comin' down)

But we're still on solid ground, woah (But we're still on solid ground)

If there's not a song about it (If there's not a song about it, woah)

If there's not a song about it (If there's not a song about it)

There is now

Mm, there is now
