If you had the chance to be in charge of S Club's second album era, what would you have done differently?

In reality, we had the following schedule:

22/05/2000 - Single 1 - Reach

12/06/2000 - Album - '7'

11/09/2000 - Single 2 - Natural

27/11/2000 - Single 3 - Never Had a Dream Come True

04/12/2000 - Album - '7' re-issue

Would you tweak the single choices? Add any more singles?

In the minority that loves natural, maybe because it was so different to reach and maybe I just love when others other than Jo got leads made for a refreshing change

Reach is the obvious lead and Natural showed a different side to the group, a little hint of the maturity on the album which otherwise isn't really showcased in their run of singles. That said, Bring the House Down is the obvious missed opportunity and I think it deserved a chance at being a single, perhaps after Never Had a Dream Come True? That one's pretty immovable given the Children In Need link and I wouldn't swap it for any other song given how much of a classic it is.

Perhaps single 4 could've even been a double A side between Bring the House Down and something like I'll Keep Waiting or All in Love Is Fair, which I wouldn't pick on their own but they definitely represent the album better.

Never Had a Dream Come True could even have been a double A-side with Perfect Christmas!

I do think Bring The House Down should have been a double-A-side with Never Had A Dream Come True - it was being lined up as the single after Natural anyway, so it would have made sense and would have also nicely dovetailed in the way the S Club album era went, plus it would have meant not yeeting a whole album era.

After that I'm not sure what would have been the best fourth single. Maybe Love Train given they performed that on telly a few times and it had the same sort of vibe to it as Reach?

I probably would have just swapped Natural for a Bring The House Down/I'll Keep Waiting double A-side.

I think Natural was a slight misstep to be honest. I like it but it's definitely more of an album track to me than a single, Bringing down the house I think would have been bigger. Otherwise I don't think there are many songs that scream single, maybe Love train at a push?

I will concede that Natural definitely isn't seen as a huge S Club classic, though I do like that it shows a different side to their music, especially in terms of their singles canon!

This is a good point - it's notable for being the only S Club single without a Jo solo at all!
