I've watched all of them apart from USS Callister: Into Infinity now and what a strong season. Wasn't quite so keen on Eulogy; a bit too stripped back for me despite being a decent idea but it's a tos

Having finished now, I think this is the definitely the best season since Netflix first took over. Eulogy is fantastic and has got to be a future classic - such a wonderful performance from Paul Giama

I've just finished the first episode, Common People and...yeah I think I'll wait for a bit now as that was a bit depressing 😭 A strong opener though that definitely had that classic Black Mirror terrifying concept mixed with a twisted sense of humour. You can definitely see where it was going from a while off and the references on the nose, but I really appreciated the relentless bleakness and insular focus on a single couple. Felt refreshingly anti-Hollywood which has been a problem with recent episodes.

Reviews are pretty good for this season so far, I do love the show but it's become very inconsistent recently so hopefully this shows there's still life in it!

I've just watched the first episode too and it was scary how real it felt, like it was something in our very immediate future 😵‍💫

I watched 5 first episodes and they are all really good. Such a massive improvement from season 6 I can barely even remember anything from. Also it doesn’t feel so heavy and bleak.

I love Rashida Jones popping in so many fabulous shows lately.

I’ve liked every black mirror series. This one was really good but a little more predictable. The first episode might be the first one that almost mirrors real life today than in the future. Personally didn’t see the need for a US Callister part 2 but what they did with it was pretty good as well. Eulogy was probably the best one and pretty sad

I've just finished Common People and despite it being an hour I feel like it all moved a bit too fast for me to actually care about what was happening to her? lol Tracee's character was a bit all over the place too and didn't really match the tone or vibe. Brilliant concept for an episode and executed well in parts but not top shelf really.

Very much appreciated the bees easter egg though.

Finally starting watching this series and have seen all bar that Callister sequel episode.

I agree that this is a better series overall than the last couple with some really great concepts but I can't help feel a bit underwhelmed by the endings of a couple of episodes. It really felt like only the first one tied everything up (as grim as it was!) whereas all the others felt left a bit too open for my liking. My overall favourite by far was the 1940s film one.

I've watched all of them apart from USS Callister: Into Infinity now and what a strong season. Wasn't quite so keen on Eulogy; a bit too stripped back for me despite being a decent idea but it's a toss-up between that and Common People for what's the least good of the season. Neither are bad but just nowhere near achieving what the others manage to.

At the moment I'd probably rank them something like:

  1. Hotel Reverie

  2. Plaything

  3. Bête Noire

  4. Common People

  5. Eulogy

Hotel Reverie and Plaything are probably up there with some of the best of Black Mirror for me. Capaldi was fabulous, the callback to Bandersnatch was neat and expanded on that world very well, and Hotel Reverie had me captivated the whole time despite the feature-length runtime not always warranted for the show imo. Beyond the Sea could never x

Having finished now, I think this is the definitely the best season since Netflix first took over. Eulogy is fantastic and has got to be a future classic - such a wonderful performance from Paul Giamatti and touching story yet still very Black Mirror, the antithesis to Common People if you will. The US Callister sequel was essentially an out and out blocbuster but really enjoyable, I thought the ending scenes added some real dark twists, Jesse Plemons was fantastic in the short amount of time he was on.

I would've liked Plaything to be a bit more fleshed out, but it has stuck with me, Capaldi is always great to watch and I really liked the slow build-up of tension as well as the 90s games callbacks. Bete-Noire went utterly ridiculous at the end, but it was fun to see it unfold. Hotel Reverie was the one that just didn't work for me - beautiful cinematography, a great concept and Emma Corrin was fantastic, but the execution just turned it into yet attempt at San Junipero that fell flat. There was so much more interesting angles they could've gone with.

(so essentially the opposite to Calum lol x)

omg the polar opposites bratcheeseblock

I did eventually watch Into Infinity and enjoyed it a lot so at least we have something in common with this season magic

I thoroughly enjoyed this season - it's certainly back with a bang and back to its high standards after a slight dip!

Hotel Reverie was the one I wasn't too fussed on but the other five were brilliant. Eulogy was deeply heart-breaking, as was Common People! Plaything hit me hard because I am a big gamer myself and Bete Noire was a fun thriller of an episode. A great season on the whole! USS had me gripped throughout too even though I was lost at parts because it's been so long since I saw the first part of it.
