I think that’s why I prefer the international one. It’s the one I purchased upon release in 2001.

Yeah, they all look like fashion victims on that cover and I'm confident each member would look at themselves on it and say "what was I thinking?"

Come to think of it, I agree. It’s funny this was my favourite album cover of theirs at the time.

Steptacular is actually my favourite artwork from the first three albums. It's just nice and colourful, they all look great. The foil glittery logo effect on the CD I have is a nice touch!

Step One is their most memorable of course, and in the scheme of Steps related things it's iconic for them - yet there's something about it that comes across a bit ugly to me (not the band - it's just the layout/design). Somehow Tears on the Dancefloor with the same concept looks a lot more pleasing to my eye.

Buzz is their most dated cover to me, with the attempt to look ultra modern/futuristic, but looking back, that's precisely what makes it looks like it was made in 2000 lol. The outfits, the hair!!

  1. Step one (cheeky though iconic)

  2. Steptacular (I do enjoy the bright color scheme)

  3. Buzz (as Jay mentioned, it looks dated as it tries to be futuristic a bit too much)

Step One remains my fave and I loved the nod back to it with tears on the dancefloor it worked so well and a really good idea.

In terms of Buzz what do people prefer, the UK cover or the international cover?

Personally I much prefer the international one.

I prefer the UK one purely for nostalgic reasons. It's very of it's time and it's very "pop" so feels quite Steps to me.

I prefer the international version as well. Though I don’t mind the UK version. I mean, Steps covers were always a bit tacky if you ask me.

I was never a fan of the ultimate collection cover as generally speaking i like albums covers to feature the faces of the artist on them.

That one was really a dissapointment on many levels if you ask me..

I think the album cover looks very cheap.

It definitely didn't offer much to anyone who had bought all their previous albums but it did the trick at the time and got people interested in them again and of course got them the number 1 which i honestly didn't expect to happen at the time.

I love what it brought them. Not what it brought us as a fan. I did enjoy having the DVD version because I could finally play all of their videos.

I think it also gave them more confidence that the fans were still there and there was an appetite for a brand new album.

True! The nostalgia Steps vibe around that time really helped them I think and the succes was a bridge to new material.
