Posted May 8May 8 Is nobody else as excited as i am about this movie?! It's been 14 years since we last got a FD flick and the trailers and marketing for this one have got me HYYYPED! Coming out next week (at least in Iceland)
May 8May 8 There are previews of it tomorrow with a double bill of the original and this one. Unfortunately I am working it. But I’m excited for it. I like this franchise so much. Especially when you just embrace the chaos. This marketing is FANTASTIC.
May 9May 9 Just got back from an advance screening. Had so much fun. Won't spoil anything specific, but lots of fun nods to the earlier movies, and so much playing with your expectations. I think my favourite in the series is either 3 or 5, the former just has the best death sequences bar none and the latter comes close too in addition to the best plot twist they'll ever do, but great Rube Goldberg shenanigans either way.

May 9May 9 I think 3 and 5 certainly have the best opening sequences, but 3 is definitely the best. I actually really enjoyed the original movie. Do we know why it took so long to make a sequel? I remember the 5th film didn't do amazingly well at the box office, but I thought it did OK. Seems this is tracking really well and if the reviews are good then it should turn up a decent profit. Perhaps the franchise just needed a break and certainly this nostaligia horror love-in means there is a market for it.
May 9May 9 It’s worth noting that this was Tony Todd’s last film he did before his passing so I’m intrigued to see how this holds up his (and Bludworth’s) legacy, just seeing that shot of him at the end of the trailer knowing the condition he was in is heart wrenching in itself🫡

All the other films are pretty good though. Probably one of those films that clips up really well with YouTube/TikTok too.
June 7Jun 7 This one was very good! The entire hospital sequence was excellent. I missed the actual premonition side of things though and it felt like they didn't really do that all that much in this one?But this still makes the 4th the only truly dire one in the franchise. The rest are so watchable and fun!
June 7Jun 7 I was interested in seeing this due to the good reviews, but hadn't actually seen any of the prior Final Destination movies so I decided to make that my project last week in the run-up to seeing it, these certainly aren't true cinema and when there isn't a death happening, it's terminally dull trying to care about cannon fodder, but I've gotta say those death sequences are hugely entertaining, the tanning bed and log lorries are highlights. I found something to enjoy in all of them apart from Four, that was TV movie standard with terrible 3D teases. This one though I think really managed to go beyond just the creative deaths (and they were still insanely creative, especially that MRI machine!) to tell an interesting story as well, I liked the them experimenting with the premonitions and exploring the origin and order of deaths and how it goes through families, and also the impact on one that becomes wise to it, a bit like the impact on someone who realises they have to murder to get out of it like in 5. I do think some of the characters were well played too that they were at least not all hopeless cannon fodder you were just waiting to die. Tony Todd gave a great final performance too and that reveal really tied it all together, RIP </3
June 7Jun 7 Final Destination movies just hit different when they hire Disney/Nickelodeon alumni 🤷♂️also I never realized how different these movies hit now that I've watched a copious amount of fire and rescue procedurals, there were three scenes from the movie that I could tell were taken from the 9-1-1 playbook (and one from Chicago Med which I'm surprised by bc that's normally not talked about as much)

June 8Jun 8 Agree with what everyone has said on here, I think they had a lot of fun making this film too and you could tell the people writing it really cared about the franchise. I was a YT video with one of the producers and he was so passionate- could really tell he loved the franchise. There's so many ways for the story to go now. Richard Harmon was so good in this! I loved the fake cop out early on.It sounds like they will bring AJ Cook back as the continuity character going forwards. Also agree with everyone that 4 was pretty much tripe.

No doubt in my mind they absolutely want to kill her off for good in a future film, death doesn't like loose ends etc.
