  • Ordinarily, would’ve been very excited by the above news. Two of my favourite nations of the 2010s. It does reek of the ESC team pulling out all the stops to lure people back knowing people may pull

  • Israel is definitely paying the returning countries to come back and vote for it. I will not watch and support the contest but will definitely follow the voting patterns closely.

lol. I struggle to imagine how it’s going to be able to host so many people given the entire city’s population is 200k. It is smaller than my home town and even that was a goddamn village!

I think they’re hoping for a similar approach to Basel (where a lot stayed on the outskirts of Germany and France) where people travel in from Sunny Beach and surrounding resorts?

Can only assume the Sofia bid was just dogshit and they had no other choice 😂

Beach holiday to the cheap Bulgarian destination of Burgas next May hmm (no)

Gives off a different vibe to other recent host cities and they may be forced to make the on-site thing smaller which is a good thing, too much oneupmanship in many of the recent contests.

I assume that Sunny Beach and surrounding places have enormous tourist bed capacity which helps here. Still far bigger than Millstreet, Ireland (population less than 2000) which hosted in 1993, although I'm not sure if that was a good idea.

The city with the most flights to and from Burgas is Tel Aviv. 🙊 The Bulgarian authorities and Eurovision officials wanted that city, while Bulgarian national television wanted Sofia.

Everything about Bulgaria next year and their win is so sus to me.

And they are changing the official rules about countries involved in an active conflict not being able to host starting 2028. Duh!!
