  • This really is the album I’ve been waiting for from Zara her whole career. She’s always had great singles but as I’ve said in previous posts here, the albums often felt like a mish mash of sounds wit

  • Me when Eurosummer

  • I am a Pretty Ugly truther. 10/10 song to me. I can see why most people don't like it as it's so in your face but it absolutely slaps. Great album overall and easily her best. Hope it manages top 10

V excited for this. Pretty Ugly was a bop that deserved better!

The title track has belatedly clicked with me two months on after hearing it on holiday cheeseblock her best in ages!

the new Lisa Frank edition of the album cover is really cute and on brand:

I actually can't wait for it. She's 3/3 for singles I've had on loop, and the Tiffany Pollard sampling track she keeps teasing sounds ICONIC.

I've aaaaalways loved Zara, she's got one of the best voices in pop and I feel like she's always just got pop music, without trying to overcomplicate it. Fun in her performance style with catchy songs to boot. But it's definitely this era which feels like she's got "era" down to a tee. There was no particular running thread with the last few albums, just fun pop albums with a bunch of songs thrown together but with the whole technicolor/y2k/dreamscape aesthetic she's been going for in this era, and the songs having a glossy, 2000s feeling about them too, it feels like everything has been carefully thought of and I'm so happy to see it for her.

She's finally really creating an image of where she stands in pop music and maybe that won't connect to making her one of the biggest stars in the world but it's giving her an era worth talking about 9 years after she had her first hit. I think that often gets overlooked - she's nearly a decade in the business, and while she never made it to be A-list, she's still being playlisted by radio stations, still somewhat in the zeitgeist and not just a regional name in her home country.

Every song she has released from this era so far is a 10/10! It’s such a shame she’s not had any charting success at all but I think opening for Tate McRae in the USA definitely helped generate some online hype for ‘Midnight Sun’ because ‘Pretty Ugly’ and ‘Crush’ didn’t have that, hopefully the Tiffany Pollard sample in ‘Hot & Sexy’ will generate some online hype. Also ‘Hot & Sexy’ is giving me serious ‘Lush Life’ vibes!

Ooh the tracklist. Another Saturn's Return after Ariana's. Some summery titles for the autumn month release. Can't believe only 10 tracks though, so short.

  1. Midnight Sun

  2. Blue Moon

  3. Pretty Ugly [Explicit]

  4. Girl’s Girl

  5. Crush

  6. Eurosummer [Explicit]

  7. Hot & Sexy [Explicit]

  8. The Ambition

  9. Saturns Return

  10. Puss Puss

So excited! Love all 3 singles - she is on top form this era!

My favourite pop girl.

Yep, I'm super excited for this also. Love Midnight Sun more with each listen and the whole asthetic of this area has been amazing! Her albums aren't the most consistent but I've got a great feeling about this one.

Blue Moon sounds so lush! A great follow up to Midnight Sun the song.

Sounds gorgeous, I can see why they didn't follow Midnight Sun up with that straight away though because it is a similar vibe.

I can't wait for Euro-Summer personally, it sounds very Edward Maya/Inna and I know Zara will sound LUSH over a track of that style. Roll on Friday for album of the year time x

This album is dance-pop perfection. Blue Moon and Eurosummer are probably my favourite tracks.

Agree, this is a great album! 'Eurosummer' and 'Girl's Girl' are probably my two highlights. Can see myself coming back to this album a lot!

Such a great album! Blue Moon, Eurosummer and Hot & Sexy are the standouts from the new tracks but there really are no skips.

Zara is scheduled to perform on next weekend's Strictly results show!

No doubt it'll be 'Symphony' or something but a girl can dream that the Strictly audience will be exposed to 'Midnight Sun' xo

I've never listened to a Zara Larsson album before but going to give this one a go now I've ended up stanning the title track! There's just a LOT of new releases to work through today so not got to it yet 🙀

I’m only half way through the album, but oh my GOD!!!! She has done it. Pop perfection!!!

You can see how carefully the track list has been picked and it is designed to be listened to in full. The transition from Blue Moon into Pretty Ugly is insane!
