Nice to see lots of youngsters at the barrier there. We noticed how many men there were in the audience last Saturday - way more than 20 years ago

I am positive surprised how full the stadiums have been until now. Even Paris is sold out and France has never been his core audience

Robbie Williams delights Krakow fans with Polish banter

British pop star Robbie Williams has proved he knows how to work a crowd after delighting fans in Poland with a mix of his hits and lighthearted banter in Polish.

The 51-year-old ‘Angels’ singer thrilled audience members at Krakow’s 22,000 capacity Tauron Arena on Tuesday by dedicating a song to a woman in the front row and asking where she was from.

When she replied “Tarnowskie Góry” Williams looked momentarily stumped, before cheekily trying to repeat the tongue-twisting name.

As the crowd roared with laughter and applause, the star made a few more attempts before joining them in the laughter.

The clip quickly surfaced online, with Tarnowskie Góry’s official Facebook page saying: “Robbie Williams has learned about Tarnowskie Góry and pronounces our city’s name beautifully.”

Fans online were also quick to praise the singer with one saying: “I’m impressed by your class and composure.

“Today I'm telling everyone what a nice touch that was.”

Another said: “A great example of how to promote our city.”

The Krakow performance, which is part of Williams’s ‘Britpop Tour’, marked his fifth concert in Poland since his debut in Warsaw in 2000.

The former Take That singer launched his solo career in 1995 and has since sold more than 80 million records worldwide, making him one of Britain’s best-selling artists.

My name is Robbie Williams, this is my sh*t – the king of Britpop blew up the Dome

20250912- DSC1756

Robbie Williams gave a sold-out concert at the MVM Dome, where the British pop-rock star flooded the audience with a lively show and emotional moments. The opening The Lottery Winners filled the audience with energy, followed by Williams' hits and a series of interactive games. The show was interspersed with spectacular sets, dancers and surprises, and personal stories and family memories created heartfelt moments, featuring a complete emotional palette.

It was not easy to get into the spirit for the Robbie Williams concert on Friday night, as the music industry had taken its toll and by the end of the summer and the beginning of autumn, it had revved up to the level of domestic and international public life. On one day, about a dozen long-awaited and quite important albums were released (Beach, which closes the last ten years of twenty one pilots; Blessthefall's comeback album, Gallows; Lorna Shore's second release with frontman Will Ramos; Dance Gavin Dance's first album since the departure of singer Tilian Pearson), Limp Bizkit and Mudvayne also came out with new songs from scratch, And this is still only a part of the novelties, without claiming to be exhaustive.

This dumping was discovered by the MVM Dome concert of the king of British pop-rock, which was doomed to success in the unseen and unheard-of. Of course, I didn't base all this on the location or my fortune telling, but on Robbie Williams' past 25 years in the industry and the tons of hits he has released over the decades, either solo or with Take That. I had concerns about the location and the sound system, because even though Thirty Seconds To Mars or a Kygo sounded good back then, Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard, for example, turned out to be unacceptably bad and unenjoyable. Although Robbie's music can be compared to Jared Leto's band from the triumvirate above – and more like the middle, arena rock era – there was no guarantee of anything.

Lost Uncle Kitchen

The evening was opened by The Lottery Winners, also from the UK, who I was curious about, as they are famous for their energetic and lively, exciting concerts, and this year's material, KOKO (Keep On Keeping On) was quite good. And Thom Rylance and his band didn't wait for the scheduled start at 7:40 p.m., they took the stage around 10:30 p.m. and started their short but intense concert. And Rylance became one of my favorite frontmen in about four minutes, because he lived the stage amazingly and kept in touch with the audience in a brilliant, funny and very direct way. Already after the second song, we knew how Robbie Williams called him to join his tour after he heard one of their songs on the radio.

But how did he find out my phone number? I have no idea

– joked the singer. He then held a public vote on their favorite Williams song, and after the Angels' victory, he quickly performed it with the effective help of the audience.

But to say a few words about the music: luckily we caught an evening when the Dome sounded good, so every single instrument could be heard completely clear and understandable, the vocals sat superbly on top of everything, while the electronic bases supported the guitars from below. The two vocals worked great together, Rylance also brought his parts correctly, and Katie Lloyd's vocals harmonized pleasantly with the frontman. False sounds occurred in both of them, but actions such as when the singer started doing push-ups during the song – even though his kitchen uncle physique didn't exactly predestinate him for this – or telling endless stories about his AC/DC fandom – for which he didn't have any friends at school – more than compensated for every little hiccup.

One of the band's biggest hits, Burning House, went huge at the end of the forty-minute set. Although the audience obviously felt that no matter how good the guys from The Lottery Winners are, they were actually waiting for Robbie Williams sitting on needles, but the first few lines brought together a good bit of jumping together and a quite acceptable cheer for the last song. So we could draw the conclusion that although the band is not flawless live, they create the atmosphere and smoothly transfer the energy to the audience.

Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams started his show with pinpoint accuracy two and a half years after his previous visit and didn't have much fun, there were already about thirty people on stage with the dancers and the band at the beginning of Rocket, and then the singer rose high with a huge set element.

My name is Robbie Williams, this is my gang and this is my s*gg

– the king of Britpop introduced himself, and then he made the sold-out Dome jump with Let Me Entertain You. He then explained to the riff of Foo Fighters' All My Life that this night was for fun and they struck in with Blur's Song 2, spiced up with a bit of Seven Nation Army and Livin' on a Prayer. I think that's how you should start a party. "I'm still quite famous in Budapest. I like it," the singer said with a mischievous smile, then went down to the audience to sing and shake hands.

Fortunately, my prognosis turned out to be correct and the sound was flawless – although the drums may have been a bit overdone, but that's actually splitting hairs. And the protagonist celebrated the evening from beginning to end with decades of routine, but not at all apathetic, with sincere enthusiasm. You could see that he enjoyed the spotlight, teased the audience, played every possible cheering game with the audience, and that was a buyer for all the craziness that the British star could come up with.

Emotions from wall to wall

However, Robbie Williams did not dedicate the whole evening to exploring the ways and how of ntertainment and entertainment, much more personal topics also came up.

My life began when I met my wife. Before that, I may have been successful, but it was completely lost. Since then, I have four children who are not interested in success and stadiums, only in being there with them. They didn't save the rock star, they saved the man

– he introduced the song Love my Life, which was followed by the 17-year-old Strong, who sent himself to himself, with a great verbal give-and-take with the teenager and the 60-year-old – "only 51, you little naughty" – Williams.

Thom returned to the stage with an acoustic guitar and accompanied a whole block next to the singer – accompanied by a few jokes – and songs like Better Man or Candy, to my greatest regret, could only fit in here in half a minute. The cover of Relight my Fire got the full running time and Katie Lloyd also returned to duet with the protagonist of the evening. And during Something Beautiful, we got one of the biggest vaccines of the night from the free-mouthed singer, because looking around at the lit phones, he only said: it's beautiful and much cheaper than a Coldplay concert.

The last rock star?

By the way, there was not a single complaint about the visuals and the crew, the sets and the LED wall were the perfect accompaniment for the evening, the band was huge and professional, smiling behind the instruments all the time, and the dancers changed their clothes at least ten times and probably lost one and a half kilos by the end of the two-hour concert. And the main attraction was the huge set element mentioned above, which lifted the star into the air as a rocket at the beginning and as an angel wing at the end of the concert.

In the same way, there were no complaints about the audience, all twenty thousand people were dancing, jumping, clapping, screaming, cheering, laughing at the raining joke bombs, they were honestly surprised by such gags as when Williams sang New York, New Yorkin pink to his toes with a pink boa around his neck, after he told us that he had wondered all his life whether he had a gay tendency, but "one occasion does not make someone gay, right?"

The band introduction also ended in a huge medley, where Paranoid was performed in memory of Ozzy, then Pretty Woman, Destiny's Child Survivor, or even Y. M. C. A. and Hey, Jude. At the latter two, the audience also started a huge rampage and it felt like we were slowly turning to the endgame. And so it happened, as Robbie Williams sang "She's the One" to Hilda in the front row, who came to the concert from all over Norway and He probably also got a shock when the protagonist went down and hugged him.

Regular time ended with the Claude Francois song "My Way", which was introduced by a long and heartfelt speech about his family and the illnesses they have suffered over the years. And I don't know if there's another person in the world who can talk about a stage four cancerous tumor that gives you goosebumps in your arm and fills your heart with love and hope, but Robbie Williams was able to do it.

Then, after an amazingly short, almost rabbit-tailed back and forth, came the last gig for Feel, and then the last tears for Angels. This was really the winner, all emotions and energy were unleashed in the Dome, thousands of phones rose high and at least as many throats screamed the lines that had become classics. And at the end, Robbie Williams didn't stand at the front of the stage to say goodbye for minutes, but disappeared behind the scenes like a real rock star, while still during the song. And I think maybe it's Robbie Williams. The last real rock star in the classic sense.

Had a really nice time in Klagenfurt, Austria. I hope I captured how it felt.
Lost my camera in the airport as well, so that’s cool.
