From All Saints to Robbie Williams, our critic picks tracks by top Brit winners over the years

She’s the One by Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams has racked up more Brit awards (13) than any other artist or group over a chaotic 30-year career, including winning best male solo artist four times – and that doesn’t include the five awards he picked up as part of Take That. There are too many stellar tracks to pick from Mr Rock DJ himself's back catalogue – but She’s the One always lands.

Which he didn't write 😂

The BRIT Awards 2026 closed tonight with a special tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, fronted by Robbie Williams.

Williams and former members of the late metal icon’s live band – Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos and Zakk Wylde – performed the 1991 track ‘No More Tears’ in honour of the Black Sabbath legend, who died last year.

Introducing the tribute, a message was shown to fans in Manchester, where the awards were being held for the first time, from musician Dolly Parton in Nashville.

Parton said: “What an incredible life to celebrate. Ozzy Osbourne dedicated his entire life to music and his legacy has left a permanent imprint in the fabric of music lovers everywhere. Now talk about stealing the show. Ozzy knew how to get your attention with his love of theatrics, his musical gifts – he could turn any occasion into a full blown show – and at his very core Ozzy Osbourne was a showman.”

Ozzy’s widow Sharon accepted the award with their daughter Kelly. Sharon said: “I am honoured to accept this award for my gorgeous husband…god knows I wish he was here to accept it himself…but I know that Ozzy is looking down on us all right now.”

“My old man was blessed with a one in a million career. He was at the top of his game for 56 years…Ozzy was authentic, gifted, totally unpredictable, a wild man – he was a true artist. He came from a small working class neighbourhood in Birmingham and he rose to become one of the most recognisable and respected musicians of his life…he never stopped pushing himself tirelessly…at the end of the day, he will always be a rock star.”

Sharon added: “This award goes to his incredible family, it goes to so many musicians who helped Ozzy along the way…and his crew who were always there and who never let him down.”

Sharon also paid tribute to the “thousands of people who lined the streets of Birmingham to say goodbye” to Ozzy after his death and “his millions of fans around the world.”

After this, Robbie Williams led a tribute to Ozzy with a rendition of ‘No More Tears’, which included a soaring guitar solo from Zakk Wylde. You can watch the moment above.

Elsewhere on the night, other performances came from Harry StylesOlivia Dean, Rosalia, Wolf Alice, Alex Warren, Sombr and Mark Ronson, who also accepted the Outstanding Contribution to Music award.

Olivia Dean was the big winner of the night with four wins including Album of the Year, while other winners included Sam Fender, Wolf Alice and Geese. You can see the full list of winners here.

What a sensational evening at the BRIT AWARDS last night…!
From unexpected lovely chats (@sombr what a kind soul are) to many inspired musical performances, the evening was pure music magic.
But the real core of the evening for me, was watching @robbiewilliams take the stage with @zakkwyldebls @robtrujillo @tommysrocktrip and perform an incredible tribute to the forever legend that is @ozzyosbourne …

Rob has love, respect and admiration for Ozzy and the entire Osbourne clan is longstanding. Last night’s tribute to Ozzy was both great honour and deeply personal.

@sharonosbourne Thank you for entrusting Rob with such an important moment . We love you. 🙏

And @kellyosbourne @jackosbourne and @aro_officialmusic consider our arms wrapped around you always❤️Aw x

THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS: OZZY AT THE BRIT AWARDS 2026

Seven months after the world lost the Godfather of Metal, British music is kneeling down to honor Ozzy Osbourne. And he does it as it should be, with a line-up that seems to be taken from a dream: Robbie Williams, that bast*rd who went from pop to rock without asking permission, along with Zakk Wylde, friend and guitarist of Ozzy Osbourne, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos and Adam Wakeman. The song chosen: "NO MORE TEARS".

FACTS YOU DIDN'T KNOW:

1. The personal invitation. Robbie wasn't a filler. Sharon called him directly because she knew he was a fan of family and music. Last year, Robbie had already recorded "Rocket" with Tony Iommi, so the chemistry was assured.

2. Zakk's Legacy. Zakk Wylde played with Ozzy from 1987 until the end. It was his right-hand man, his riff brother, who held the flame when Ozzy could no longer do it. To see him on this stage is to see a son saying goodbye to his musical father.

3. Robert Trujillo: Before Metallica, before being the bass animal we all know, Robert was Ozzy's bass player between 1996 and 2003. He played on the live album Live at Budokan and on Down to Earth. His return to a line-up of former Ozzy members is a historic moment.

4. Tommy Clufetos: The Iron Drummer. Tommy played with Ozzy for almost a decade (2010-2019), as well as having been part of Black Sabbath on the final tour. If anyone knows how to sound heavy, it's him.

THE BOTTOM LINE:

Ozzy passed away on July 22, 2025, just three weeks after his final concert in Birmingham, where he reunited with Black Sabbath for the last time. He was 76 years old. His legacy: more than 100 million records sold, five Grammys, two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (with Sabbath and as a solo artist).

Tonight in Manchester, the Prince of Darkness receives his Lifetime Achievement Award. And the rock world stops for a minute to say: thank you, Ozzy.

Ozzy Osbourne was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BRIT Awards — but the decision to have Robbie Williams perform “No More Tears” has sparked debate. Some fans are unhappy. Some say it should have been a metal singer. In this heartfelt video, I share my honest reaction — why I was initially cynical, why I changed my mind, and why I believe Robbie Williams was actually the perfect choice. This isn’t about genre. It’s about respect. It’s about legacy. And it’s about keeping Ozzy’s music alive for future generations. Music is timeless. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Lovely to see so many nice comments from Ozzy fans. Robbie dug really deep for that performance last night . He was brilliant. I think it will be a night that the Osbourne family will treasure in their hearts forever❤️Robbie has been friends with the Osbourne family since he first went to live in LA.

Loved the guitar solo from Zakk.
