October 7Oct 7 I’ve finally listened to NOW Yearbook: The Vault ‘86 and after an initial listen, I only have a Top 6. I’m hoping after repeated listens and exposure I’ll probably enjoy more tracks but for now here’s my Top 6:Chris Rea - On The BeachBilly Ocean - Love ZoneDaryl Hall - DreamtimeChaka Khan - Love Of A LifetimeLionel Richie - Love Will Conquer AllLoose Ends - Slow DownI’m currently revisiting the 80s Yearbooks, and it’s given me a chance to enjoy these tracks I haven’t had the chance to enjoy before. Insofar, I’ve listened to NOW Yearbook ‘80 and Disc 1 of the Extra and I have to say, the sequencing is pretty great. Disc 3 of Yearbook ‘80 is particularly strong and probably a highlight for me.I’m looking forward to Disc 2 of the Extra!
October 8Oct 8 If Now are planning to release Now 125 on 20th November, then it goes to show that they’re more interested in getting Now Legends to the top of the compilation chart Edited October 8Oct 8 by Hadji

October 8Oct 8 Supermarkets need to start stocking the extras again and the vaults too. Shame they don’t

October 8Oct 8 On Now Legends, I noticed that the Sparks song that’s on there wasn’t included on the 1994 yearbook. I’m surprised at that and I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t make extra 1994
Friday at 11:425 days My local ASDA has now stopped selling CD’s. I really wish supermarkets understood how much physical media is going to decline because of this, especially the numbered Now’s.I know that HMV is still around, but a lot of people (including me) don’t live anywhere near one, and most people I know that go to HMV tend to go for their favourite artists albums, not compilations.I imagine a good percentage of the casual buyers of numbered Now’s would only buy them because they happened to see them in their local ASDA or Tesco and bought it for their car. They don’t have that option anymore. It’s such a shame.
Friday at 11:435 days On that note - is anyone here old enough to remember supermarkets starting to sell physical music?

Friday at 18:475 days I think it's all Asda's now, including any Asda Living's which have rebranded to George. Both where I am have stopped selling physical entertainment products which is an odd move considering the increased demand for stuff like this again. You could always reliably get a NOW release from them but now it's just Morrisons in the supermarket game for that.

Friday at 22:035 days My local stopped earlier this year but they were getting so crap anyway at putting them out that I stopped bothering going there to get them. Friday releases wouldn't go on the shelf until Monday earliest, even if you asked them they'd say the delivery "hadn't turned up yet".In my previous retail management days I used to manage the Home & Leisure department (including the entertainment desk) at Asda in Brighton from 2008-2010, admittedly when the music section was a focal point of the store and not just one sad rack. The labels would send the CDs in up to a week in advance so staff can get them ready/put security tags on etc. Although I appreciate how short staffed they must be these days and it's no mean feat having to dig through boxes upon boxes of deliveries out the back to find something, so they probably just pretend it's not there sometimes. On that note, I got Yearbook '71 Extra from Amazon today. Nice to see Nathan Jones on here by The Supremes and If You Could Read My Mind by Gordon Lightfoot is such a classic, unbelievable how low it peaked. Looking forward to listening through.

Saturday at 15:394 days 1 hour ago, lewistgreen said:Probably because you're single handedly keeping them afloatSo what if I am. I only buy the numbered albums and 12" 80s from Asda. I also buy a few artist albums from there and they should start selling extra and vaults. They used to sell the extras but they stopped. They give us albums we don’t want but they stop the albums we do want ie. reissues. I’d easily take a Now 19 reissue over Now Legends any day and Now 19 is worth more than Now Legends hence why you won’t find the former in charity shops but you’ll find the latter in charity shops by the end of the year Edited Sunday at 14:293 days by Hadji
