I was fearing I was going to be ending up with a very disappointing result for an entry which felt like selling my soul a bit but Katie seems to be picking up a bit now so yay. Thanks Joops for the 12 (first time in a hot minute that I've got a top score in any contest!), Lindsey, Ansel and Rich for further medals and Roba, Herbs, Whoddy, Cameron and Jordan for my other points!

For anyone who didn't know / didn't realise, Katie is a member of MUNA - I normally try to avoid recycling artists in any form but I was really struggling to find an entry for this at the last minute so I've mentally justified this because Katie as a solo artist hasn't been sent anywhere before and her solo album seems to have weirdly attracted basically zero attention at all on the site aside from a couple of songs popping up in Ansel's personal chart. The album as a whole has quite a different sound to MUNA, a lot more folk-influenced, some songs really remind me a lot of Adrianne Lenker. This song admittedly is a bit more typical MUNA but the brief for the contest did require a big chorus so I couldn't exactly send one of the more low key moments from the album lol - it is a really surprisingly solid album on the whole though. (I say that but I did really like MUNA's last album too!)

btw I decided not to list any commiserations in the end but Valencia only just missed out on points x (then Jessica Winter and Marina Kaye after that)

I think the ANGELICA song was maybe just suffering from being an oversaturated sound but she didn't deserve to do that badly, she was top 15 for me.
