Maybe I'm being daft but the option didn't jump out at me and the way I used to do the formatting didn't work

It's annoyingly long winded and now takes up a lot more space but yes it is still possible x

click on the black circle with the plus sign (2nd option in the top left of the post box) and select 'wrap in box', then in the box that pops up click the cog in the top right and select 'expandable' (and type something into the box title to indicate it's a spoiler)
