for the 11th edition of TBSCITW...E! we are looking for the best foreign language efforts of the 20th century.

to clarify, entries should be sung in a non-english language and must have been released before the year 2000.

you should avoid sending big UK chart hits or anything entered to a former song contest.

Für die 11. Ausgabe von TBSCITW...E! suchen wir die besten fremdsprachigen Werke des 20. Jahrhunderts.

Zur Klarstellung: Die Beiträge sollten nicht in englischer Sprache gesungen und vor dem Jahr 2000 veröffentlicht worden sein.

För den 11:e upplagan av TBSCITW...E! letar vi efter de bästa sångerna på främmande språk från 1900-talet.

För att förtydliga, bidragen ska sjungs på ett annat språk än engelska och måste ha släppts före år 2000.

Pour la 11e édition de TBSCITW...E!, nous recherchons les meilleures œuvres en langue étrangère du 20e siècle.

Pour plus de précisions, les œuvres doivent être chantées dans une langue autre que l'anglais et avoir été publiées avant l'an 2000.

I've entered anyway - could well change but I wanted to get a placeholder in just in case my options run dry... really very intrigued to see what everyone does for this theme, it should produce one of the more interesting sets of entries I think

I'll mull this over as could go several ways, but will enter.

My fave contest is back and foreign language themes are also my faves!!!

Funny though how I was playing with an idea of foreign contest for Bop Idol as well lol, but now for sure I need to come up with something else!!!

Query -

Does every line have to be in a foreign language? I immediately thought of a song with one line in English but 90% of the song in another language.

so long as it's primarily in non-English so that should be fine

This would be my first of this contest if I do enter but I'm really quite surprised at my lack of ability to immediately think of a variety of options for this - I thought of several 'options' that were released just a little after 2000 lmao - but I did think of one gem that I might just enter.

So much to choose from!!! Let's dive into a list of potentials....

Have sent an entry. Wanted to send so many songs. Hope some got picked elsewhere.

I did start looking for an entry last night but didn't find anything I wanted to send yet oop - obviously will get something in, another interesting theme choice that I look forward to seeing what direction people go in with!
