R-72880-1295591049.jpg

Off-Shore were a German Dance project lead by Jens Lissat, who was one of the key dance producers in germany at that time and also formed the well-known dance project "Interactive", who had hits with "Who Is Elvis", "Dildo" and "Forever Young". "I Can't take The Power" is a nice little euro-piano-house banger, which reached #7 in early 1991.

81 Oleta Adams - Get Here

grafik.png

Oleta Adams grew up in Yakima and spent her formal years in the church singing in the choir as well as playing the piano and directing prior to her teenage years. After rejecting a scholarship to study opera at a Lutheran university, she decided to shoot her shot into the music industry, however, she was turned down by music executive's who favored disco music at the time. Undeterred, she moved to Kansas City and after a stint of hotel residency, she would be discovered by Tears For Fears who recruited her for their 1989 album, Tears For Fears - The Seeds Of Love. The single, Tears For Fears - Woman In Chains features Adams on vocal duties and became a Top 40 Hit across ten territories including the U.K. and America. (Discogs)

"Get here" was her only big hit and one of the best soul songs of the 1990's for me.

Robert Palmer (1949–2003) was an English singer, songwriter, and musician known for his smooth voice, sharp style, and ability to move effortlessly between rock, pop, soul, funk, and reggae. He began his career in the late 1960s with the band Vinegar Joe before launching a successful solo career in the 1970s and beyond. "Mercy Mercy Me" is a brilliant chilled pop song - one of his best songs for me. It reached #9 in early 1991.

76 Ralph Tresvant - Sensitivity

grafik.png

Ralph Tresvant (born May 16, 1968) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer, best known as the lead vocalist of the influential R&B group New Edition. Raised in Boston, Tresvant’s smooth, high tenor voice became a defining element of the group’s sound, helping drive hits such as “Candy Girl,” “Cool It Now,” and “Mr. Telephone Man.”

In 1990, he launched a successful solo career with his self-titled debut album, featuring the Grammy-winning hit “Sensitivity.” For me "Sensitivity" is a brilliant masterpiece of early 90s R&B much better than anything he did with New Edition. It reached # 18 in early 1991.

"Shocked" was the 4th and last single released from "Rhythm Of Love". It was quite succesful peaking at #6 in summer 1991.

I think the Outhere Brothers copied 2 in a Room!

'Secret Love' and its key changes is good.
