Biography

In the first half of the 1970s, Slade were the cornerstone of the glam-rock movement in the UK. Their penchant for heavy guitars meshed seamlessly with their knack for pop hooks and Noddy Holder's archetypal hard-rock vocal style, resulting in countless British hit singles and albums. By 1975, they had even starred in their in own film, the cult classic FLAME. The band had an unexpected comeback in the '80s with GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY POWER SUPPLY, which even broke through to the US, where Slade had never made much of a mark before. His recording and performing career began in the late 1960s, although it was not until 1980 that his commercial success began.
