Definitely on the podium but I reckon Starc did it all to wrap it up in the first two tests

Normally I would agree, just feel that Head's century and the way he went about it broke England in Perth, setting the tone for the whole series. I think England has a lot to think about as Australia

Man of the Series is a two horse race between Starc and Head. I have Head just in front at the moment. If Starc picks up 5+ wickets in the second innings that could change though.

Brazil's Laura Cardoso has become the first player ever to take nine wickets in a T20 international, recording figures of 9-4 against Lesotho.

The seamer achieved the feat in three overs as Lesotho were bowled out for 13 in 6.2 overs, chasing 203.

The 21-year-old now has the best figures in the format, besting the previous record held by Bhutan's Sonam Yeshey, who took eight wickets for seven runs against Myanmar in a men's T20 international in 2025.

In women's cricket, Cardoso surpassed Indonesia's Rohmalia Rohmalia's figures of 7-0 against Mongolia in 2024.

Notes on the above Group

Australia's side sees the first international tournament for Lucy Hamilton who has been impressive in the WBBL There is also the choice of captain for the Australians in that Molineux doesn't have the best injury record.

Notes on the above Group

England are waiting on the fitness of Nat Sciver Brunt. Uncertainty over the batting line up with one T20 against India and a couple of warm up games to go. There is also the surprising lack of cover for Amy Jones. No specialist wicketkeeper in the squad.

For New Zealand, there are the retirements of Suzie Bates, Sophie Devine and Lea Tahuhu after the tournament.

Ben Stokes will miss England's second Test against New Zealand at The Oval following an incident in a London nightclub, with Joe Root stepping up as interim captain.

Stokes and pace bowler Gus Atkinson, who is also omitted from the squad, broke the team's midnight curfew in the early hours of Monday morning and were present when a member of England's security staff was struck by Saracens rugby player Totoa Auvaa.

Nat Sciver-Brunt has returned from injury lay-off and has had a mixed bag of form. Very rusty in the first warm up game and hit a half century in the second.

During her absence, Charlie Dean deputised as captain and drew the ODI series 1-1. The second match was rained off. Also won both T20 series 2-1 (against New Zealand and India). After the T20 World Cup, there is a Test at Lord's against India.

Impressive start for England in the World Cup. Danni Wyatt Hodge hit her first century in a T20 world cup and Amy Jones hit a half century. Impressive bowling from Freya Kemp as she returns from injury.

Nat Sciver Brunt is out for the next two games. Charlie Dean will deputize once again. However, the squad for the Test against India has been announced and there is no Charlie Dean. She has a back issue and was originally not going to be part of the ODI series to manage her workload around it. The latest injury scare for Sciver Brunt casts doubt on the wisdom of this decision. They have also named a second wicketkeeper. I am surprised they didn't select one for the World Cup squad.

The Test squad: -

Nat Sciver-Brunt (capt), Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Maia Bouchier, Alice Capsey, Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Amy Jones, Heather Knight, Emma Lamb, Grace Potts, Ellie Threlkeld, Mady Villiers, Issy Wong.
