Really feel like this highlights how the OCC's methodology of how individual track streaming contributes to album units - counting streams to two albums (typically a parent album and compilation) - is swamping the weekly and year-end charts with compilations that effectively just reflect plays of tracks from elsewhere, not the popularity of the compilations themselves.

Only allowing tracks to contribute to one album's units and using Billboard/Luminate's system of counting streams of a track towards whichever album said track is on that recieves the most pure sales during the tracking week could help to reduce the sheer level of stagnancy that certain compilations have given they're only really reflecting the popularity of the artist's catalog rather than the albums themselves (MJ's The Essential isn't even the best-pure-selling MJ compilation at the minute, the label have just requested streams to be redirected to it from Number Ones).

2024 just shows how impactful the eras tour was,

I cant see any of the older ones reentering this year unless she actually does releaee the rumoured 13th album or Debut TV

Those 2024 to 2026 placings for Taylor are only part of the picture - as well as Lover being ever present until this week, Folklore had been top 40 every year from 2020 to 2024 before its drop to #44 last year and may well be out of the top 100 this year.

Suppose it goes to show the achievement of having so many albums displaying as much simultaneous longevity as they have already.

I think this could also be the first year with only 1 Taylor album top 100 since 2019 (unless she releases something else) can see TTPD finishing between 90 and 100 at absolute best in the current climate

There’s certainly likely to come a point when Olivia re-overtakes in the weekly chart, but I feel like it will probably be too late for this year’s year end.
