July 27Jul 27 It was nice to see someone actually overtake under braking and Hungary is one of the best tracks to work around the battery issues. Ferrari blew it again of course and Oscar was very unlucky as he looked to be managing his pace well until Ferrari forced his hand. Would have been interesting to see how it played out between just the 2 McLaren's though I think Lando had the pace to overcut eventually.Lewis can moan all he likes about the penalty but it if your speeding there's no defence. He's reminding very much of Schumacher in his final Ferrari year. Pace is there often but making lots of errors.Looks like Antonelli very much has this season under control if he takes more of a Prost/Brabham approach in the 2nd half. Collect the pointa and when you can, win whilst going as slowly as possible.
July 28Jul 28 Yeah this weekend the 2 Lewis penalties were kinda unarguable but the previous 2 were more up for debate. The Silverstone jump start looked no different to me than when Norris did it at Saudi Arabia in 2024 and Vettel in Japan 2019 and they both got away with it. Then the Russell collision was very harsh imo considering it was lap 1. It did make me laugh a little bit that in 2022 he was in Russell's position when colliding with Alonso that time and I think he also retired there in 2009 (?) and of course also had the race ending collisions with Kobayashi in 2011 and Rosberg in 2014 - very much an unfortunate piece of tarmac for him clearly.
July 29Jul 29 Lewis was hard done by in Belgium with the collision. I can see why it was given but just like in football it's down to the referees opinion on the day. He's not the only one who's ever been on the end of a tough call and he won't be the last.Rather than Lewis being unlucky with the jump start because others have been let off, I'd prefer to see any driver registered as moving before the lights go out penalised.
