It was one of the better Monaco races for an while.

I agree with you, was also glad Antonelli kept calm under the pressure and still won it after those safety car and reset incidents , would of been a shame to lose it after his huge lead beforehand

Lewis with a new PB for Ferrari is very pleasing! Dominated Charles all weekend too which is a rarity. The entire McLaren team left their brains in Woking apparently. And Kimi is very close to baggi

  • By ‘we’ does he mean him?!!! & Alonso is seconds up the road!

Wow they've actually reinstated Gasly's P3.

That's madness, can't remember the last time this has happened, nearly a week after the race. Malaysia 1999 with the Ferraris?

So what does that mean for the other drivers who got unfairly pinged by the rogue limiter? Especially how about Russell, who wouldn't have had to serve his drive through without the original 5s penalty. HUGE can of worms opened...

In 2003 Giancarlo Fisichella and Jordan were awarded the win in the abandoned Brazilian Grand Prix five days later after the timekeepers got the lap the race officially ended incorrect -

Yes I did think of that but that was simply switching the positions of 2 cars around, not reinstating an entire position which was originally penalised. Great race though and the only podium in history where every step was incorrectly occupied (of course 1st and 2nd being the wrong way around and 3rd left entirely vacant as Alonso was in the medical centre following his hefty shunt).

DC was robbed!

Think you mean the OG Kimi ;)

I’m actually dying rn

Lewis gets his first win with Ferrari, and guess who is there to interview the podium? NICO ROSBERG. On the 10th anniversary of the legendary Brocedes crash.

Shows how these cars suit Hamilton’s style much better, last year he got overtaken by Hulkenberg in a Sauber in the race and he has won a year later, that’s an astonishing turn around in his fortunes.

Honestly that's the happiest I've been after a race in many many a year. Lewis getting a win in red, still producing such a masterclass this late in his career is monumental stuff. I laughed that I made the Djokovic comparison last week and see who was waving the chequered flag!!!

An all Union Jack podium was also something I was hoping for in the current era given the glut of British talent. I'm sad for Kimi but tbf that's even stevens now in the Merc car conking out stakes so from a championship perspective it makes things a little more interesting. Certainly not getting carried away as we saw what happened last year after Lewis' Sprint win but Ferrari might, might be cooking up something here. He had the pace to win today irrespective of the fortuitously timed VSC pit stop.

Reading about Hulk's situation is the only downside, you genuinely couldn't even write that. Even more bizarre than Max's tear-off ending in Leclerc's brake ducts in Spa a few years ago.

Love that result for Lewis

Kind of glad Kimi retired to almost level out Russell’s

Fuming at Nico’s result. How he has 0 points this season is ridiculous and he’d have been fighting for 7th…

Antonelli got unlucky today shame at least Russel got a podium finish

So good seeing Lewis win - Ferrari got the strategy right..hopefully more of that this season!!

First full English podium since 1968?

Since 1958 actually. Jackie Stewart not being English. 1968 was last all British podium.

In Portugal 1958 you had Stirling Moss, Mike Hawthorn and Stewart Lewis-Evans on the podium. This was the race where Moss cost himself the title by arguing that Hawthorn's penalty was incorrect (when there were no cameras to prove it either way)

In regards to the race. Lewis seemed reinvigorated and drove well. Was a little unusual to find myself rooting for him for once. If Charles had not have binned it in qualifying they could have been running 1 and 2 towards the end. As for the Mercedes pairing, Kimi may have been outqualified by George but he again outdrove him on race day. If Ferrari are a challenge all year George needs to up his game or settle for the Bottas role, especially as McLaren and Red Bull have potential to join the fight.
