Friday at 22:541 day In free practice today Colton Herta completed the the required 30 laps to qualify him for a superlicense. With Perez confirmed for next year the writng could be on the wall for Bottas. He's been comprehensively outperformed by Checo across the season and Cadillac are reportedly very happy with Herta's performances in the F1 car. They had already completed the necessary number of sessions for a test driver this year so clearly Herta's run was for his points. It could well be the decision is as good as made to put him in the car next year
Yesterday at 07:411 day As disappointing as Bottas has been it would be a shocking decision to swap him with Herta and one solely taken based on his nationality. The guy can barely cut it in F2, he'd make Logan Sargeant by comparison look like Mario Andretti.
Yesterday at 12:061 day Well Lawson has just destroyed any last hope of ever getting back in the Red Bull full time (even though the incident was overwhelmingly more on Max).

The guy can barely cut it in F2, he'd make Logan Sargeant by comparison look like Mario Andretti. It's a tricky one with Herta. Certainly he looks to be struggling in the F2 chassis but that series doesn't tell the whole story. Plenty of drivers have looked average in F2 or equivalent and gone on to do well enough in F1 - Albon, Perez, Bearman and even Antonelli didn't exactly set the series alight but have performed better in F1 than would be expected on that basis.Additionally, Herta has looked very good in Indycar and consistently outperformed the likes of Grosjean, Magnussen and Ericsson and whilst none of them were ever close to top tier they were all good enough.Herta's other challenge is moving to series where the driving style is markedly different from Indycar on top of having to adapt to a new way of working within the team, limited practice and qualifying opportunities on tracks that are completely new to him against a field of drivers who know them intimately.Herta's talent isn't the problem but he needs to find a way to make it show.Bottas meanwhile, looks very much a spent force in F1 and despite his experience, has never been known for his technical feedback being competent rather than excelling.Frankly, I'd be looking to move Bottas on regardless of Herta and I actually think he'd do well in Indycar
12 hours ago12 hr Ferrari looking strong this weekend and arguably Charles looks to be the faster despite not hooking it up on his final run.Should be a fairly straightforward 1-2It'll be interesting to see how they screw it up
