Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ Two-Steps Back to No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100

By Gary Trust | 3/2/2026

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” twirls back to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, adding a second week atop the chart. Up from the runner-up spot, it first led the list three weeks earlier.

Meanwhile, as “Choosin’ Texas” rules the Hot 100, Megan Moroney’s Cloud 9 debuts atop the Billboard 200 albums chart — making Langley and Moroney the first women who primarily record country music to lead Billboard’s premier all-genre song and album charts simultaneously, dating to the Hot 100’s August 1958 inception (after the Billboard 200 began publishing on a regular weekly basis March 1956; in four other weeks, men/women/group combinations placed country music at No. 1 on the surveys together, but not two women in the same week).

Also contributing to the chart double-up for women artists, Miranda Lambert is among the co-writers and co-producers of “Choosin’ Texas.” Langley and Lambert co-penned the song with Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor and co-produced it with Ben West. It became the first Hot 100 No. 1 for each talent; Moroney earns her first Billboard 200 leader.

“Choosin’ Texas” previews Langley’s album Dandelion, due April 10. Plus, Alex Warren’s former Hot 100 No. 1, “Ordinary,” reaches a milestone in the chart’s top three.

“Choosin’ Texas,” on SAWGOD/Columbia Records, with Triple Tigers handling country radio promotion, drew 20.4 million official streams (down 4% week over week) and 41.8 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 5%) and sold 6,000 (down 19%) in the United States Feb. 20-26.

The single rebounds 2-1 for a third week atop both the Streaming Songs and Digital Song Sales charts and holds at its No. 9 high on Radio Songs.

“Choosin’ Texas” concurrently leads the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart for a 14th week. After it topped the Country Airplay chart (dated Feb. 14), it continues crossing to other radio formats, bulleting at No. 15 on Adult Pop Airplay, No. 29 on Adult Contemporary and No. 30 on Pop Airplay.

Alex Warren’s “Ordinary” ascends 5-3 on the Hot 100 after 10 weeks at No. 1 last June-August.

It claims a 33rd week in the Hot 100’s top three, rewriting the record for the most time logged in the medal region, breaking out of a tie with Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You.” (The carol is set to continue challenging for the feat, given its annual resurgence, along with Brenda Lee’s holiday classic, below.)

Most Weeks in Hot 100’s Top 3:

33, “Ordinary,” Alex Warren, 2025-26

32, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey, 2019-26

29, “As It Was,” Harry Styles, 2022

28, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” Brenda Lee, 2019-26

27, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Shaboozey, 2024-25

26, “Last Night,” Morgan Wallen, 2023

“Ordinary” solely holds the marks for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the Adult Pop Airplay (30) and Pop Airplay (16) charts and is tied with Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” for the most weeks totaled atop Radio Songs (27). It’s No. 4 on the latest Streaming Songs and Radio Songs charts and No. 5 on Digital Song Sales.

Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” climbs a spot back to its No. 2 Hot 100 high. Taylor Swift’s “Opalite” falls to No. 4 on the Hot 100, a week after it became her 14th leader.

Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” rises 6-5 after it spent its first two weeks on the Hot 100 at No. 1 in January. It leads Radio Songs for a second week (68.3 million, up 5%) and the multimetric Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot R&B Songs charts for a seventh frame each.

HUNTR/X’s “Golden” glows 7-6 on the Hot 100 following eight weeks at No. 1 last August-October and Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” lifts 8-7, after it began her career-best 10 weeks atop the chart upon its debut in October and led through January.

Bad Bunny’s “DtMF” drops 4-8 on the Hot 100, two weeks after it hit No. 1. It rules the Hot Latin Songs chart for a 49th week. Sombr’s “Back to Friends” bumps 11-9 on the Hot 100, after reaching No. 7, as it tops Hot Rock & Alternative Songs for an 18th week. Rounding out the Hot 100’s top 10, Kehlani’s “Folded” rises 13-10, after hitting No. 6.

Very pleased for Ella wub Such a great song and it's taken it's time to build to it's peak.

USA love to hold onto radio friendly stuff and keep it going so i'm not shocked at Ordinary being back in the top 3 to set the record.

Great to see Zara get her joint highest-charting hit on the Billboard Hot 100. I'm more than positive than this will be her first top 10 there, which is long overdue.
