Starting this thread as qualification has started for the Women's World Cup next year. In fact for Asia it's already finished! The same teams as last time round with the exception of North Korea replacing Vietnam.

I've just had a look at the qualification for this.

Is it just me or does the European qualification seem hard to understand?

With the League B, League C countries.

It's certainly not as simple as having groups which the winners qualify from! I think they did a similar thing with the Euros - I guess it means that teams on a similar footing end up playing each other whilst largely having the same results in terms of who qualifies.

England play Spain tonight on ITV.

We've reached the semi-finals of the women's AFCON which means that we know who's qualified from Africa now! The big surprise is that Malawi, making their debut at the AFCON and ranked 153 at the start of the tournament, have made the semis and qualified! They join Algeria, Cameroon and Morocco in the World Cup.
