Songs Radio 1 snubbed at the time but were getting played on Radio 2 / MTV / The Box Ricky Martin & Meja - Private Emotion Heather Small - Proud Lene Marlin - Sitting Down Here Madasun - Walking

What a golden era! This was around the point I started following music and the charts properly. I really miss how varied and plentiful the playlist used to be.

Sia's first ever add I think, nobody would've guessed where she'd be just over a decade afterwards.

Still Dre was removed the following week, never made past the B-list.

But Armand and Paul Van Dyk went A-list

What the hell - one of the greatest rap songs ever made! What an error from R1!

They're really spoiling us this week with 10 new additions!

Boo at 'Fever Dream' off already though, just when it's looking to repeak sad

They haven't listed Zara as featuring on Tyla's new single but presumably there's not a solo version?

Big new release week!

Lone star isn’t a R1 style song but was pretty huge at the time!

It’s chart run showed how the R1 snub effected it in terms of peak but hugely unusual for a song to jump about like this by 2000

24-23-30-36-32-30-28-26-{21}-23-22-22-21-26-30-35-37-42-51-57-64-73->22

Shalala Lala that is a SONG!! So underrated

What was Vengaboys' playlisting like at that point? Were they generally snubbed or was this the first?

I love a bit of Shalala La but I can understand how they might have found it too cheesy if they were reluctant to support Lolly or Steps 😂

I can see why most of those songs were snubbed by R1, as they sound much more R2, it's really not too much of a surprise?

ok so we have a discrepancy on our hands! Sabrina Carpenter - House Tour currently has a 1tro being played (and a very shitty one at that, it’s the worst one i’ve ever heard), and has been played in 2/4 shows so far today. do we think its like b listed? unless it always had one but idk.

Tune of the Week

Dean McCullough: FISHER x Tones And I - Favour

Greg James: Olivia Rodrigo - drop dead

Rickie, Melvin and Charlie: Tyla feat. Zara Larsson - SHE DID IT AGAIN

Matt and Mollie: STELLA LEFTY - Boston

Vick, Katie and Jamie: sombr - Potential

Probably trying to get their name back out there before new material comes out

If it's not listed as on the B-list then no we do not think it's B-listed.

Why is Tones And I suddenly such a go-to dance vocalist?

Maybe the royalties from 'Dance Monkey' are finally drying up?

Apart from "Up And Down" that got A-list, the rest of the singles that followed got minimal support in 1999.

I see tomorrow's playlist update is already online on the playlist page. I think they have worked around @Mangø early flight! 😆
