I'm in Bulgaria currently so it's quite prominent on billboards etc around here! I'm not a fan of cycling but a few people I've spoken to are so were quite excited about these first few stages.

Ah nice! Yeah can't imagine Bulgaria gets too much action from the big cycling races - this is certainly the first time I've seen racing there!

The second crash in two days today though, this time with a few riders abandoning sad slightly evened out by our first ever Uruguayan winner of a Grand Tour stage in Guillermo Thomas Silva! Always good to see new countries making an appearance.

This is also when I start clocking team name changes - Ineos are now 'Netcompany Ineos', the first time Ineos haven't been the lead sponsor since they took over which is interesting. Also curious as to whether the team with 'Visit Malta' in their name think that that makes me more likely to visit Malta?

We're into the second rest day today - Vingegaard finally making it into pink, although Eulalio certainly held on longer than I expected! Will be interesting to see how high up the GC he can stay. Vingegaard looks like he's nailed-on to keep the jersey now, but of course you can never say for certain.

Late message given the race finished a week ago! Vingegaard won convincingly in the end, but that's what everyone expected lol Nice to see Gall get his first Grand Tour podium and Hindley complete the set of coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd at the Giro. And Eulalio staying in the Top 10 was mightily impressive as well, a worthy winner of the white jersey.
