Chart Commentary:

Holding on at #1 for a second week we have Grum & Amba Shepherd. It only recently occurred to me that as Grum's real name is Graeme Shepherd we have a case of a collaboration between two artists sharing a surname although as far as I can tell they are not related to each other. Rising up to #2 are Hungarian metal band Thy Catafalque with their breakthrough hit here although the band themselves have been active since 1998. I believe they are the first Hungarian act to have charted here and certainly the first with a song in the native language. Other recent rock hits from Kalandra and Moron Police also rise within the top 10 whilst last week's entry 'Dying Light' from Klangphonics rises to #8 to become their seventh top 10 hit.

Their #1 from 2024 'Ghost (Find Me Again)' now breaks the 90 week barrier in the full chart further extending its longevity record (it held the record outright on its 73rd week). LSR/City's 'Without U' returns to enjoy its 72nd week on the chart now tying for second place with Grum's 2022 hit 'Look to the Light'.

With no brand new arrivals in the top 40, we look to three songs that have made their way in from the bubbling under section. Spurred on by its BJSC victory, Mike Oldfield's 'To France' shoots up to #24. It matches his previous peak achieved with the festive hit 'In Dulci Jubilo' back in 2016 though it should be noted that both songs actually pre-date the 21st century. Another BJSC hit and first-time appearance for Oktobernatt is at #39 who join Chalk (#34) as the two big rock entries of the contest. Between them at #37 is the sole dance arrival from Anjunadeep artists Cri & Nicky Elisabeth with their collab 'This Is Our Life'. Cri previously appeared in BJSC with 'No Mission' which charted at #24 followings its appearance. He since had a #21 follow-up in 'Astray' making this his third top 40 appearance (and the first for Elisabeth).

Just been catching up on your chart and I'm pleased to see that 'I DRINK THE LIGHT' has been doing well here too and is still peaking in fact! I didn't quite point 'RING THE ALARM' in BJSC but still really enjoyed the TOMORA album nevertheless. Chem Bros rocking my world right now with the connection to that project and 'Go' having its moment in the chart *.*

My favourite new entry this week has got to be 'Pain' I think I first discovered it in the background of a video several years ago and immediately needed to know what it was. I wasn't expecting it to show up in BJSC one day but am glad it has had this forum exposure now, yay for it coming top 10 in BJSC.
