Chart Recap | Week 25

Bella Kay completes her climb to #1 with Promise?, finally answering the question posed by the title. Apparently, yes.❣️😊✌

The week's biggest mover comes from Freya Skye, who jumps eight places to #2 with Petty. A reminder that being petty remains one of pop music's most renewable resources.

Dagny climbs to #3 with Rain, proving once again that summer charts and weather-themed songs are strangely inseparable.

Last week's leader Absolutely slips to #4 with I Just Don't Know You Yet, though after only two weeks the chart still seems interested in getting acquainted.

And at #5, Fulminacci leaps eleven places with Stupida Fortuna - a rise suggesting that fortune, stupid or otherwise, has been rather generous lately.

The upper reaches are crowded with fresh arrivals.

Mackenzie Carpenter debuts at #6 with High Pony, followed immediately by Chanel Yates at #7 with Once Upon a Time and Teddy Swims at #8 with Dancing With Your Ghost - because apparently the Top 10 had several vacancies and no intention of waiting.

ROYA also arrive straight into the Top 10 at #9 with Just Talk. Which, for once, the chart seems happy to do.

Meanwhile, former champion Henri Moodie tumbles to #10 with comedown. Six weeks in and the title is finally beginning to reflect reality.

Further down, Sarah Engels ignites a ten-place climb to #15 with Fire, while Achille Lauro rises nine spots to #18 with Amor - proving that Italian songs continue treating emotions as competitive sports.

The week's highest new entry outside the Top 10 belongs to Holly Humberstone, who lands at #20 with Blue Dream, bringing her trademark melancholy to an increasingly busy summer schedule. Elley Duhé enters at #22 with This Side Of Heaven, while G Flip debuts at #26 with Bed on Fire - a phrase most people would treat as a genuine emergency. Lower down, Confidence Man & JADE arrive at #30 with gossip. As ever, confidence and gossip remain a dangerous combination. And Paola Lezzi quietly appears at #36 with Stessa Direzione, entering without fuss and probably wondering why everyone else is shouting.

Nice to see "Stupida Fortuna" in the top 5, the gain for "Fire", the new peak for "Amor" and the debuts for "Blue Dream", "Gossip" and "Stessa Direzione". From the Knocking on section, I like "Love Hurt Repeat" and "The Times". But I am more happy about "Summer Funk" being a chartbreaker in your chart and "Magnetic" being a Hot Streamer song in your chart.
