  • Mavis Staples I would imagine? She was featured on Hozier’s Nina Cried Power in 2018 when I think she was 80!

  • I really can't see that this would be a priority for them to consider at all.

  • What a gem Placebo’s ‘Pure Morning’ is ❤️

Pretty sure that would’ve been a sackable offence at Radio 1 10 years ago!

Thank God common sense has prevailed!

Isn't that in America?

dunno. lets hope its global

Is it really likely to do anything more than it already has here? I mean, 'Baby Steps' got to #30 and this'll be even further along in the campaign. It feels very much like this has already been and gone months ago.

There was no apparent Tune of the Weekend and this appears to have extended into no Tunes of the Week either? Dean actually said his TOTW was coming up this morning but then never announced anything more. Not sure what's happened.

Tune Of The Weeks:

Dean: December 10 - Infinity

Sam/Danni (in for Greg): Tove Lo - i'm your girl right?

Rickie/Melvin/Charlie: J Hus - Moonlight

Mollie/Jerry (in for Matt): Bella Kay - i deserve better

Katie/Jamie: not revealed.

heard all of these announced listening to the shows on playback.

But when did Dean say December 10 was his TOTW? I listened around the track and he didn't say anything?

he said before playing it “let me get my tune of the week on”, which is leading me to assume its Infinity. It would make sense too given December 10 just dropped their ep.

I'm clearly not with it anymore then, you carry on! 😂

Doesn't explain why there was no Tune of the Weekend though!

I know it’s already been said but how wonderful to see Danceteria getting support from Radio 1.

I often feel like Madonna is almost under appreciated these days - which probably sounds odd given how huge a career she’s had but she deserves to have her back catalogue of singles stream as well as other huge acts like Michael Jackson, Elton John or Fleetwood Mac. I don’t think she gets the credit she deserves for such an astonishing run of singles and styles over the years and it’s become the norm for the media to be cruel towards her just because she’s not ageing in the way they think she should… so it’s really nice to see her receiving positive press again for once and managing to get playlisted again <3

Beabadoobee - Sun Has Set [C-C]

Very surprised at the lack of support for beabadoobee this era. Pretty sure all singles from her last album were A-listed.

The first three were but 'Real Man' was only B-listed. There's still time for 'Sun Has Set' to climb though, not everything climbs after one week! (but equally wouldn't be overly surprised if it stalls on the C-list)

I would've thought it would've been B-listed ahead of Sam Smith though.
