July 22Jul 22 Author When recording engineer Martin Weismayr was told that Robbie Williams was coming to Vienna Synchron Stage, he didn't quite believe it. He thought someone was pulling his leg—until he heard the music they had just recorded. In this short behind-the-scenes story, Martin recalls the moment he realized he had been part of recording "Desire," the official anthem of the FIFA Club World Cup, performed by Robbie Williams. July 22Jul 22 Author https://www.youtube.com/@BBC6MusicThe one and only CMAT fills in for Nick this week - joining Annie to put the world to rights. With the World Cup Final imminent, they delve into the details of the half-time show which promises performances from Justin Bieber, Madonna, Shakira, BTS, Burna Boy...and the Muppets. With only 11 minutes allocated for the entire half-time show, will it be a foul or fair play? Elsewhere, CMAT and Annie discuss Charli XCX’s album campaign, Rose Gray’s brilliant new single, and Kelela’s dreamy collaboration with PinkPantheress. Plus, Rihanna joined Jay Z on stage but why, apart from the conversation about her new music, is this culturally significant? Other highlights include: a breakdown of Taylor Swift’s best work, the truth about the crowd at Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter at Coachella, shocking insight into a possible lip-syncing epidemic, and CMAT’s burgeoning friendship with Robbie Williams.25:15 CMAT on spending time with Robbie Williams
July 23Jul 23 Some kind of offtop but so sad for the final. It was a fake game, I'm sure. While Spain is very class and great team, I just don't believe Argentina played at all in this game. Why? It's a big question. But psychology and emotions never lie.Very sad. Even don't want to watch football after that anymore. And I'm saying this being a big fan of football.I hope Rob will say some good and pleasant words to Argentinian fans this autumn. They fully deserved this. What an amazing team they were...
July 25Jul 25 Author @robbiewilliamsHail Keanu,I think I reached peak me at the World Cup.To have a Nicorette fall out of my mouth during a live interview......and then stick to my forehead......is the most me thing I’ve ever done.I had absolutely no idea it was there until the following day.The fake apology has now had over 27 million views. The whole MintGate thing has reached 51 million people.I’ve managed not to read too many comments, which is probably why I’m finding the whole thing genuinely funny. The Paulie Walnuts memes have been magnificent. It wouldn’t feel right if I appeared on the world stage and absolutely nothing weird happened. One and a half billion people were watching. For someone whose nervous system is permanently convinced we’re moments away from disaster, I’m quite proud that none of it was visible on my face.Well......apart from the Nicorette. The old me did briefly surface today though.“These amateurs think I wouldn’t have crushed that powder until it was as fine as Bahamian sand?”Please.I’m not new.And now the internet has another thing it’ll be 100% certain happened.“Remember when Robbie was off his nut at the World Cup?”I wasn’t.I’m not.And I haven’t been for a very long time. But that’s showbusiness. And so it goes. The funniest part?Straight after singing with Laura and Nicole, I kept saying to everyone,“No one died and I didn’t cause an international incident. We did it!”Cue someone saying,“Will you come and do this little interview? It won’t take long.”Me being me is very on brand. There’ll be plenty more.I am inevitable.Anyway...I’m off to continue ageing in public.See you at the next misunderstanding.Namaste,RobertSome nice responses to Robbie's World Cup experience post https://www.instagram.com/robbiewilliamsfan.chris/Sometimes life has a funny way of reminding us that even global superstars are just human.Millions of people watched a tiny Nicorette become a bigger story than an incredible performance, but that's the internet. Those looking for something negative will always find it, even when it simply isn't there. And I have to admit, there's something almost flattering about it. Imagine being so fascinated by someone that you're willing to sacrifice precious minutes of your own life to write angry comments about a mint that fell out of his mouth. That's a level of dedication most artists can only dream of.What I saw was someone who has openly faced his past, worked incredibly hard to build a different future, and can now laugh at himself with honesty and humility. That takes far more strength than pretending to be perfect. The people who matter won't remember "MintGate". They'll remember an artist who stood in front of an estimated 1.5 billion viewers, delivered a fantastic performance, and then handled an embarrassing moment with humour, grace, and complete transparency. We all have moments we'd rather forget. Most of us are just lucky they aren't seen by 51 million people.Keep smiling, Rob. Being real will always outshine being perfect. 🫶🏼https://www.instagram.com/fileislermusic/You’ve finally made it my old friend. It’s been a long climb to the top but I’m so glad you’re there. Perseverance counts.

What an amazing team they were...Spain were the better team on the night so deserved the win. I enjoyed the ENG/ARG match which we spent with ARG fans in a pub & had great fun.I was glad Rob's appearance was before the match ( wish he had worn a vest ). I heard the song played several times at the final so well done to all involved. t was a great occasion & meant a lot to them. Edited July 25Jul 25 by Sydney11
