Does anyone know which artists had the longest streaks in the top 40? An extended period during which they always had at least one song in the top 40? Rihanna must have one of the longer ones because from January 2010 (Rude Boy) up until August 2011 (California King Bed) she always had at least one song there, but what about others?

I believe Ed Sheeran had at least one song top 40 every week from Sing being released (June 2014) to mid-February 2016, when Lay It All On Me departs the top 40 - roughly a year and 8 months. Similarly, he's had lengthy stints from Bad Habits being released (first chart broadcast in July 2021) to the first week of January 2023, after the Christmas songs (including Merry Christmas in its second year charting) departed, and before that, from Shape of You in January 2017 until Perfect departs the top 40 in April 2018.

Olivia Dean's surely on track for a mammoth stint - Nice to Each Other debuted in June 2025 and she's had at least one song top 40 every week since, and it doesn't look like Rein Me In or Man I Need are departing the top 40 any time soon...!

Taylor Swift nearly managed a 59 week run between the release of Midnights and the 2023 Christmas rush but she had two missing weeks - 05/01/2023 (2022's Christmas week) and 01/06/2023, when Anti-Hero fell out of the top fourty the week before she released the Midnights (Til Dawn) deluxe on streaming.

I think Ed, Olivia Dean and Sam Fender (thanks to Rein Me In) are the only artists who've managed to pull off 52 consecutive weeks in the top 40 this decade.

The Beatles were constantly in the Top 40 from when Please Please Me entered w/e 30/01/1963 to A Hard Day’s Night leaving on 14/10/1964 - I make that 90 weeks.

I feel that if there are weeks in December that neither ‘Rein Me In’ nor ‘Man I Need’ are in the top 40, they will be replaced by one of Olivia‘s Christmas songs. She may well set a new record.
