I was SHOOK when I found out that Girls Aloud’s I’ll Stand By You was only released about 10 years after The Pretenders’ version! I always assumed it was at least double that!

Good point and I think with BTDYK bern such a pivotal kylie single the cover version just never lived up.

And to be honest, even if Steps did the Better cover just now..It would never top the original if you ask me.

I must admit I didn’t really know the Kylie version when I was a kid and the Steps version came out, so I naturally prefer the Steps version.

But I don’t dislike the Kylie version (as you’ll see from the cover version rate) kink
