I can see it being top 3 (or top 5 are the lowest) on Friday. To think until last year it has forever been a #10 hit!

Michael Jackson's Thriller ( 2 ) threatens to take the number 1 spot, as Halloween season draws to a close.

The hit track , which has become synonymous with this time of year , peaked at number 9 in 2025 ( a whole 42 years after it's original release ) and is now aiming to knock Jamie Miller's Babydoll off the top spot.

Other Hallowen tunes on the up include Ray Parker Jr's Ghostbusters ( 10 ) , Monster Mash from Bobby Boris Pickett ( 16 ) , Rockwell's Somebody's Watching Me ( 19 ) , This Is Halloween courtesy of Danny Elfman ( 20 ) and Spooky Scary Skeletons by Andrew Gold ( 23 ) , which is also on course for a new peak.

Lastly, Ariana Grande's Petal looks to re-enter the main standings ( 31 ) following the track's viral Halloween resurgence, as fans put a spooky twist on the former top 10 hit.

Well not sure this is the reason, could it just be that a new digital EP was released...

Not sure if the OCC article writers are really oblivious to these physical releases or just have a vested interest in pretending the boosts are for different reasons for some reason.

I didn't realise 'petal' had physicals this week, not sure it'll stay top 100 anyway but neat to see it making a surprise First Look reappearance anyway.
