Charis, whether or not a song gets to #1 or not does not mean that a singer will last long or not

In Louis Walsh way I think It means much...

I cant see how Shayne is flopping with these sales. At £3.99 for basically one whole song and the fact that the album is out next week, I dont think his sales are all that bad. Disappointing more than anything else considering first week sales for his last single but only to be expected with the goldfish nature of the British public.

There's actually 3 songs on the single, plus an "exclusive chat with Shayne"! So that's fairly good value, although most singles with 2 other songs as b-sides are priced at £2.99 these days, so Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell are basically being rather greedy.

Shayne's mids are very good - but GB are better - that's all. I'm just pleased that Louis Walsh's predictions have gone pearshaped. He reckoned most of the tracks on the album had #1 written all over them - not this one though <_<

Actually if Gnarls wasn't at No.1, Shayne would have had a Number One quite easily this week, considering his sales for today are fairly good.

The two songs are only about 90 seconds long each and lifted straight from the X Factor show with background noise included. Not such good value. The 'chat' with Shayne is him just thanking his fans apparently.

Is he bored to record some songs? 4 months after the x factor and the last single were enough to write and record some songs for his single!

More to do with his record company being greedy. Cant believe I am defending him when I hated his last song. Maybe he should have followed Westlifes example and released in the sort of week that they release their singles. Guaranteed a number 1 then. :D

Okay, that IS cheap!

I did watch the X Factor fairly regularly, but I don't remember Shayne singing A Million Lovesongs.

The funny thing is, this single kind of resembles Will Young's second single, in terms of b-sides. Ain't No Sunshine and Beyond The Sea, but at least they were whole songs. And Gareth's Unchained Melody had his versions of Will's "winner's songs", Evergreen and Anything Is Possible as b-sides. Simon Cowell really is a cheapskate! :puke2:

Louis Walsh and Simon Cowel are cheap, and I am a westlife fan....

oh and where is the kooks' amazing album?

Swaped places with Pink from Sunday's album chart

Unchained Melody was Gareth's first single.

His second was Anyone Of Us, which had Forever Blue as the B-side. Forever Blue was one of the best songs Gareth has ever sung in my opinion. Unfortunately unless you bought the single, you had very little chance of hearing it.

I think its a shame for Shayne though, that he was pitched up against Gnarls Barkley. Everyone is very quick to keep mentioning all the hype Shayne has had, but Gharls has had as much hype as The Arctic Monkeys at the beginning of the year.

I just heard his song again and can't help wondering how long its going to be before everyone is saying how grating his voice is, just the way they did with James Blunt.

But he wasn't really pitched up against Gnarls, Val. Remember, taking downloads into account, this is Gnarl's third week of release.

Off the back of his XFactor win and the massive selling 1st single, anyone would have expected that Shayne was probably going to sell close on 200K this week. Gnarls isn't taking sales away from Shayne (they're a very different genre) Shaynes single is underperforming and I think that's a suprise to most people, no one more than Simon & Louis I bet.

The album is the main thing though, so we'll wait to see how that does. The chart placing doesn't really matter, but the culmitive sales certainly will.
