Posted February 11, 200718 yr Hi I was wondering if someone could give me, or point me in the direction of, an 'idiot's guide' to personal charts, last.fm etc. i have read the help guides that have been posted up but am still very confused  As it doesn't look like there's gonna be a depeche mode forum i don't really have anywhere to call home on here, and that just leaves me dropping in randomly to threads . . . . . . i thought maybe if i understood how to take part in the personal charts and stuff like that at least it'll help me settle in and gives me something to hang around for . . . thanks to anyone who takes the time to help :) Edited February 11, 200718 yr by snowbabyneedslove

February 11, 200718 yr when I came to this community (a couple of years before I setup BuzzJack) all that was here where a couple of charts forums, couple of genre forums and a lounge!! Even if the depeche mode forum doesnt get the required votes give it time and you will find more people take notice and vote for it the next time the poll is setup. I know very little about the chart but have a big interest in music and entertainment as a whole (movies, TV etc). I hope that the site does offer more than the chart (I believe it does) in our movies, TV, reality TV and graphics sections!

Personal charts - charts posted here are members own charts that they compile. Each individual member has a different way of compiling. It can be your most listened-to songs, your top 40 favourite current songs or just a random chart you make up based on your current favs. Each chart is posted in the pinned multichart thread which you will find at the top of the personal charts forum, and the compiler will collate them at the end of the week to form a chart for the site based on members individual charts. Last.fm - each member has a profile based on their most listened to songs. You download the plug-in for your media player from the last.fm site (downloads section), and once installed it will log every song you play on your pc, and build up a profile based on top artists, top tracks and weekly artists & tracks. Group last.fm chart - this is based on how many plays an artist/song gets. eg. if depeche mode is played 15 times, it means 15 members played them. Hope this explains everything.
