Wherever they fall, they`ve been rated and recommended and maybe fallen into more than a dozen Top 100 of all-time lists and no doubt, a few Top 10`s, but for some reason you have not got round to watching them, and maybe never will.

Some of mine are:

Citizen Kane

The Maltese Falcon

Cinema Paradiso

The Green Mile

The Last Temptation of Christ

Rebel Without a Cause

what are yours?

One that really bugs me is Get Carter. Every time it's been on TV, something's happened and I've not been able to see it.

The original Russian version of "Solaris".... Soderbergh's remake was pretty damned good, but I cant really judge if it holds up to the original.... I even read the bloody book once, I just never saw Tarkovsky's film.....

Roman Polanski's "Knife In the Water"

I really wanted to see Pan's Labyrinth and missed it on general release. It's been on at my local art house cinema this weekend and I've missed it again! But I think it's out on DVD . . .

The Godfather movies

The Godfather movies
Me too. Once I'd seen (definitive mafia film) Goodfellas I never bothered with them.

I was under the illusion that ALL boys HAVE TO watch Star Wars as a rite of passage and as an integral part of their journey into adulthood?

It pretty much is....

I'm old enough to have been a kid when the original 1977 film came out, "Star Wars" is kinda my generation's thing... ^_^ You just cannot imagine what it was like as a five year old to see that in a cinema...

The Matrix (all of them)

Lord of the Rings (all of them)

Bond (most of them)

Star Wars (all of them)

^^ Those of the ones I'm usually scorned for not having seen!

The Great Escape

Goodfellas

Godfather Trilogy

Alien (but have seen the others!!)

Resevoir Dogs

^^ The usual ones I have been told off for not seeing

I don't have to imagine. I was 5 in 1977, and also went to see it at the cinema . . . although it was in Dudley
