...has anyone else noticed how many contestants on Deal or No Deal seem to be from the West Country?

I know the show is filmed in Bristol - but doesn't anyone else think it's mighty fishy that there seem to be an unusually large number of contestants from either Bristol or the close surrounding areas?

Doesn't this make the 'random' phone entries and web entries a big lie?

I reckon it's Channel 4 keeping their hotel bills down, myself........ also... did you know that before you're selected to go on the show, even if you get selected on the phone/web... you have to face a further audition to see if they want you? How unfair is that?

This, along with the dodgy "not all calls will be successful - but every call is charged at a humungous rate' scam.... questions need answering, I think...

I don't watch the show so I can't really comment on the whole Bristol/West Country matter.

I do understand why they audition contestants that have phoned in though. As it's evolved (since when I used to watch it), the show has become more and more about the contestants. I've noticed that each person now has a quirk or something interesting about them, such as a stupid good luck charm or unique talent. They need to audition people because tbh, no one really wants 22 boring people turning up anymore - the show has gone past that stage -_-

Yeah, you do have a point here actually. If it's supposedly 'random', then why the audition...?

They're not the first or only Telly quiz to do that phoneline scam thing though mate... "Brainteaser" is another one famous for that.... <_<

I think OFCOM needs to launch an investigation in ALL of these phoneline things...

tbh it bothers me not...

but it was so pleasing to see lucy win 35k yesterday... she was just there for fun and didnt show 1 bit of greed in her manner... a nice contestant who for once avoided public humiliation.

did any1 notice how the whole audience were wearing black today

they are always asked to wear black/dark tops... my nephews mrs was in the audience back in june and they told her to wear black... :)

As this is filmed in Bristol and people have to be on set for several days (not sure how long) then perhaps only local people are willing to make the effort.

There is perhaps a big outlay in time(can't go to work) and money for accomodation and I doubt that cost is covered by the show so perhaps many people from further away bottle out of being part of the show.

what do you expect its made by the most manipulative production company endemol so its shady to the core!! has anyone else noticed on the weekend they usually pick someone that has a large amount in their box to get higher ratings, the production team know whats in each box and so does the banker who is part of the endemol production team in charge of finance, its all bullsh!t! noel is annoying too always trying to build up tension and laying on guilt trips on everyone

This is filmed literally 5 mins down the road from my flat!

Maybe I should hang around looking cool, and they might let me be on it B)

hehe... I know where you live :D

I used to live in Bristol, too, in Clifton.... loved the area, but not keen on Bristol as a whole.... especially Broadmead :puke2:

Friend of mine runs a great new night there, called Bump - you been, Matt?

PMSL it was SOOOOO funny, after all this time the 250k was on the table and the greedy woman dealt at 15k...

why i laugh is because the greedy cow cried at the loss of the subsequent sums of money offered.... im glad that someone so obsessed with money got hurt.

its a game and she took an educated gamble to deal at 15k, and she should have been happy with that, but crying because she lost more was sickening. i mean, bloody hell! 15k for 45 mins work aint bad!

Yeah what a stupid b**ch  £15k is a lot of money to 90% of people, when she started crying at £30k I cheered and cheered with every blue and was delighted when the £250,000 was in her box :cheer: :cheer:

I thought it was heart breaking to watch! But when you put it like that - you're so right!!!
That woman this evening was so god damn greed - balling her eyes out because she won £15,000 when if she'd waited a round, she'd have been offered £30,000! You still won £15k for god's sake

it can be highly humiliating when a contestant gets a run of bad luck. just like the enchanting lucy from earlier in the year, 50 games and she only got a fiver, her game never got going... and i like the people who play the game, but i dont like the people who express greed, they get emotional when the big ones go..

this woman got everything she deserved, but why cry when she went away with more then alot of much nicer contestants i found nausiating.

i too cheered craig...lol
