Shakespeare Sister - Stay was my first ever purchase!

And this is probably the most credible of all the previous examples to date, dare I say...?

My parents had always bought me singles from being very young, but the first singles I actually went into a shop and bought myself were Adam & The Ants' "Stand & Deliver" and "Prince Charming".

First album I bought myself was probably "Absolutely" by Madness, over a year after it was released.
