Some online posts are trying to be clever to get the clicks with they are returning with new music headlines, which is misleading but it might help them gain extra streams these days.

Judging by what Kimberley said on this show, it seems like it was a case of crossed wires and she was only referring to the Sound of the Underground 7" single that's already out... <_<

I would like to know what is holding the label back from issuing vinyl formats of the albums. If not this year, when?! It's highly overdue.

That woman is the living embodiment of a musical cockblock.

Strange because in the original article she refers to the 'Sound of the Underground' single vinyl ("'I think there's already been one re-release of Sound Of The Underground with different girls singing different lyrics, which is quite fun."). I've not listened to the show but maybe she's backpedaling and waiting for an official announcement to be made.

Here is what she said!

"I caused a bit of drama I think, so it's probably the right time to just like clear it up. So, I think there's been a bit of news reported that we've done like new music and stuff. We haven't, unfortunately, there's no new music, no. We just wanted to do something to mark our 20 years, you know we've obviously had a really tough year with losing Sarah, it has just been unthinkable, and so we just couldn't think of doing anything together, but for the fans we wanted to put something out there, so we've sort of... we've re-released some old music. So we've got like a different version of Sound of the Underground with different people singing different lines, just like really fun stuff just for the fans really, just to make it a bit of an event, you know, so it's fun."

^ She just says that there's no newly recorded music about to come out and doesn't exactly deny there's no re-release in the pipeline.

The way it reads (and also sounded) to me is that she's talking about something that's already happened i.e. "we've re-released some old music." (past tense) i.e. the 7" single release, and "we've got like a different version of Sound of the Underground with different people singing different lines" i.e. the bonus track on said 7" vinyl single.

Maybe Kimberley is just bad at being clear, but the vibe of what she said really made it seem like she was talking about something that has already happened, not something that hasn't happened yet. That does contradict the quotes from the Daily Mail though. We'll see!

f***ing hell I choked laughing when I read this

Oh my!!

It seems like it’s a recently set up account rather than the original one. The details of the account says: Date Joined - February 2022, Verified - January 2023 (and the follower count is only 300-ish). If their team fully deleted their previous Instagram (and Twitter) that was so silly.

Been listening to the albums again recently and I've decided SOTU is actually better than Out of control. OOC has great highs but loooow lows, while SOTU has great highs and the lows are all actually fairly good.

A fanmade documentary video for the Sound of the Underground era!
