Was watching BBC24 news last night and it said the government are clamping down on illegal music downloads :blink:

Yer, theyve said this before, but this is what shocked me:

15,000 illegal downloaders will be randomly selected and fined a standard charge of £1000 :cry:

Randomly selected! As long as youve downloaded illegally twice or more in 2007, it could be you :cry: it could be me!!!

So just a warning to say, dont illegally download again!

The odds of you getting picked are probably 1000000-1 so I wouldn't worry too much... Just be careful :)

No, honestly. Its been on rotation on BBC24 all night. Of course it probably wont happen to me...but can I rely on that? 15,000 people is a lot :cry:

I don't think this is true. In Hungary only uploading copyrighted stuff is prohibited. Otherwise if you download something you can say you didn't know that it was copyrighted!

The exact quote from minister Fi Porolla on BBC24 news: "88% of these illegal downloads are directly from programs such as Limewire, and other similar software, which make it clear when downloading that the process is illegal. We are ready to clamp down on this now."

Well then, risk it if you like. I wont be. Theyve actually spoken to people on the news who've already been a victim of this. Its no laughing matter :cry: Now i just wish i had done things the proper way, and supported the artists.
