14 is a good position for Hard-Fi considering its the 5th single off an album and like Rich said 4/5th singles don't tend to do very well.

I like the the new Hard-Fi single - it reminds me of Fun Boy Three!

I was hoping Hard-Fi wouldn't be that low, but it is the final single from the album and #14 is better than I predicted for it a week ago.

According to Music Week website, that's how they have compiled their charts

 

think you all getting mixed up between whats a hit and the purpose of the chart for braodcast purposes. BBC 1/Radio 1 always do the Top 40, it's the top 40 on teletext. however if you look at music week a hit is if it gets in the 75 and is listed as new when i comes out of the bottom 250 (which i think is just for industry)

 

would confuse people even more if they said climber from 245 each week
