April 1, 200719 yr Author 23 (from 15) The Twang - Wide Awake [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/BUN121CD.JPG Chart Run: 32-15-23 Release date: 19-3-2007 Availability: available for pre-order Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: BUN121CD Label: BUNIQUE Unheard of until October of last year, five piece band The Twang were the subject of discussion in the pages of the NME, the message boards of a hundred band sites, the A & R departments of pretty much every record label of size in the UK whilst their demos were being played on BBC Radio One in the middle of the day. After some very nice free dinners and compiling an address book filled with the names of the movers and shakers in British music, The Twang signed with B-Unique in December of 2006 and began to record tracks for their debut album. 'Wide Awake' is the first mission statement from their debut album, which fuses the band's love of 90s dance music, the baggy movement and ladrock. - HMV Video here: 3fSzghSq8Ss track listing 1. 'This Time' includes Melanie's stellar reinvigoration of the 1982 hit 'I Want Candy', combining her inimitable vocals with blistering guitar chords in an irresistible, energetic tour-de-force of razor-sharp pop. 'I Want Candy' features in the forthcoming film of the same name, starring Mackenzie Crook and Carmen Electra. - HMV Video here: WBYtZndT-wo 1. I Want Candy 2. I Want Candy [Club Junkies Mix] 3. I Want Candy [so-Lo's Electric Vocal Mix] 4. I Want Candy [so-Lo's Filtered Disco Dub] 5. I Want Candy [Video] Discussion Thread Here This tune is actually a remake of a song that originally recorded back in 1966 by the Strangeloves. And it looks like the chart career of Melanie C is just about over regardless if Mel C is not on a major record label anymore. Also, when is the film "I Want Candy" coming out in America?
