April 8, 200719 yr 9 (from 7) Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/PRERELCDSRUBY.JPG Chart Run: 2-2-1-2-3-6-8-7-9 Kaiser Chiefs make their triumphant return in 2007 with the brand new single 'Ruby’. The past year has seen the band who, despite not releasing any singles or an album this year continue to hoard awards like they were going 'out of fashion' - Ivor Novello, Brits and NME awards amongst others - as well as edging towards two million album sales in the UK. 'Ruby' follows the trajectory initiated by 'Oh My God' back in 2004, 'I Predict A Riot', and 'Modern Way' in 2005, whereby the Kaiser Chiefs wield their pop suss and uncanny knack of penning songs that tell their own story coupled with an unerring ear for brilliant melodies that oozes a band at the top of their game so much so that to many it may surpass much of their previous album. A band who have found their collective musical feet and who have managed to move on and make an album they wanted to make...and one they are immensely proud of! - HMV Video here: JMDcOViViNY track listing 1. April 8, 200719 yr 11 Arctic Monkeys - Brianstorm [D] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/RUG254CD.JPG Chart Run: 11 Release date: 16-4-2007 Availability: available for pre-order Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: RUG254CD Label: DOMINO 'Brianstorm' is the stomping opener and first single from Arctic Monkeys' eagerly awaited second album 'Favourite Worst Nightmare', a breakneck journey through screwball punk and guitar0fuelled dance floor heroics. And 'Brianstorm' is exactly that. It's very, very fast, it's loud and its bad tempered guitar rifts and drums give the song a feel of emergency. It's a brilliant racket but it's also one of the strongest songs the Arctic's have ever written. Alex's razorsharp wit is on tantalising form here; Brian is the flash, insufferable anti-hero of this Morricone-gone-drill'n' bass opening shot. Turner's lyric is a vignette, the portrait of a modern day villain, one of those scummy men who come in all shapes and sizes. 'Brianstorm' comes with exclusive new tracks, including 'Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend', featuring Dizzee Rascal. - HMV Video here: is0nkwEeWKg track listing 1. If You Found This It's Probably Too Late 2. Brianstorm 3. Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend 4. What If You Were Right The First Time? Discussion Thread Here It looks like Arctic Monkeys have another possible #1 song with this tune. But one question I thought this was the video in which group dressed up as the characters of the Wizard Of Oz.
April 8, 200719 yr UGH Erasure and MCR will both be high top 10 on Physicals only I suspect. Two great bands - two great songs - both would've been higher had it not been for the massive download only songs climbing up all week. MCR's best song but still a 5th top 20 hit for them nonetheless.
