April 18, 200718 yr Author Yeah but you can't just ban alcohol because some people go too far. But i think more restrictions should be brought in because most 11-15 year olds get a friend about 18 to buy the drinks or have family members to get them, but what im saying is some people to just drink to look cool and fit in, theres nothing wrong with drinking now and then but the binge drinking that goes on is really past a joke, but its not just alcohol to blame as the majority of nasty vile cretins are just as bad without it.
April 18, 200718 yr Apart from the violence and for under 18's (which is the VAST minority) what's wrong with that? It's what the majority of people my age actually look forward to and it's not like you've never done it! People being human and drinking too much resulting in them throwing up in the street? :o SHOCKING! Because you know everyone can control where they puke especially when drunk, no one is actually human :) They should all sit indoors instead. BAN FUN :) Underage drinking is a problem, yes and people who get violent when their drunk shouldn't drink but Friday and Saturday nights are the best, I plan to drink a lot on Friday but I hope I don't throw up. The simple thing is parents saying NO! My mother always treated me fairly and never resorted to smacking or anything and I've turned out fine. If I ever listened to my father who DID smack me then I'd be a rude, violent and miserable man like him. That's an interesting post Nicky. You're late teens? I'm 41. Probably ancient in your eyes. But I was your age once. And I did go to pubs. Quite frequently. And I loved to get 'merry'. But I never went out at the weekend with the sole aim of getting blotto drunk. I wanted to go up the dancing, have a few drinks, have a good time. You know what, if I had ever thrown up in the street I'd have been totally mortified! I would have found that 'SHOCKING'. And I still do. But getting so drunk that I threw up would never in a million years have been my idea of 'FUN'. And I'd have avoided anyone who thought that was 'FUN'. Like the plague. Don't get me wrong, I'm not getting at you. I know that what you have posted is probably perfectly reasonable to people your age. But even a generation ago getting so blitzed you ended up spewing your ring in the street would not have been 'the norm'. And that would have been the same regardless of whether the drinker was underage or not. Attitudes have changed. That's all I'm saying.

But it goes back to the parents Conor not the alcohol itself, an 11-15 year old should not be allowed out in the streets at night in the first place let alone getting pissed out of their brains so why are they allowed out in the first place to get hold of alcohol ?

And that would have been the same regardless of whether the drinker was underage or not. Attitudes have changed. That's all I'm saying. I'm 20 ;) Well I usually get merry and haven't got so drunk that I've puked in nearly a year (and I made it to the toilet that time  ) when I drink I drink until I feel like I might throw up as that's my queue to stop and in my first year at Uni I managed to get quite drunk and still get up at 9:30 the next morning (Wednesday night was the best night for clubbing) There is a line anyway, I'd never want to get so drunk that I passed out as that isn't my idea of fun but what I'm saying is some people do go a bit far and throw up but it doesn't seem a big deal to me, what it says is they drank too much and they need to get home to bed and then spend the next day recovering and then carry on as normal. However come to think of it I've never puked in the street myself but I've been so pissed that I could hardly walk but that was one of the first times I got pissed and that is what happens to everyone I guess  Thank god for my friends :P
April 18, 200718 yr Meh. I can't cope with the hangovers now anyway. <_< I feel like I'm turning into my mother in this thread....... :(
April 18, 200718 yr Meh. I can't cope with the hangovers now anyway. <_< I feel like I'm turning into my mother in this thread....... :( lol know the feeling, we are exactly same age I am definitely slowing down on the drinking front now lol, not in terms of volume but in terms of how I feel the next day after a session
April 18, 200718 yr Meh. I can't cope with the hangovers now anyway. <_< I feel like I'm turning into my mother in this thread....... :( I don't really get them :cheer: Then again I always make sure I drink water before I go to sleep *now expects to throw up and have a hangover* on Friday :(
April 18, 200718 yr I used to go out Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sunday nights. Every week. With no ill effects. :cheer: Then by the time I was about 30 one night's drinking meant a 2 day hangover. It'll catch up with you too Nicky. ;)

It'll catch up with you too Nicky. ;) I've never gone out two days in a row let alone four :o  (I'm a lightweight :( ) I used to go out at least two nights a week but these days it's more like once every two weeks but in a few months it'll hopefully be at least once a week again. If I go out two nights a week to somewhere that plays music I like with my friends and get drunk then I'm happy usually. :D I know it'll catch up on me and I'm sure other things will come along that'll mean I won't be able to do it much.
April 18, 200718 yr I've got to say, I'm 18, my first year of Uni, probably the prime-age for drinking and pukeing. I do drink, but I don't puke. I've never had the desire to go out and throw up on a pavement ... it just baffles me :|

April 18, 200718 yr Anyway, back to my question 40 pages ago. Why does the UK seem to have such a chav problem when other European countries don't? Mothers go out to work in Europe too Vic. ;)
April 18, 200718 yr I've never had the desire to go out and throw up on a pavement ... it just baffles me :| Neither do I if anyone thinks that was what I was saying but I'm sure that's not what most people do either, I mean by that that one says "Yeah I'm gonna puke up in the street tonight!"

Oh I don't know. I think it's a Badge of Honour with some young neds and nedettes in these parts.
April 18, 200718 yr Anyway, back to my question 40 pages ago. Why does the UK seem to have such a chav problem when other European countries don't? Mothers go out to work in Europe too Vic. ;) We are a logical nation with to many rules, rules to limit and stick to, this creates problem in our inability express and deal with emotions, it create reactions in family situation it also makes everything wrong which just creates massive markets to break the rules in areas like drugs and underage sex. For example smashing windows increases someones street cred to a majority of younger kids because it's not allowed....these are things created from an over restricted population. In short the previous generations didn't chill and now the kids are rebelling.

Mothers go out to work in Europe too Vic. ;) Parents. Parents dont say no. Parents dont make kids take any responsibilty for their actions. Parents dont teach kids about the consequences of their actions.
April 18, 200718 yr But why are UK parents different in that respect? What is causing them to be different from German, Norwegian, Polish parents?
