FOREIGN hoteliers quake at the approach of British holidaymakers.

We're considered noisy, badly behaved and as having some of the worst manners around, according to a new survey by travel website Expedia.

And we also have abysmal holiday dress sense - the second worst of all tourists.

So, do you agree that Brits are an embarrassment to our country when travelling abroad? Are you ashamed to admit where you come from? Have Brits abroad got worse over the years?

Yeah on the costas seeing all the tattooed chavs with shaved heads so burnt they look like lobsters and England football tops chanting football songs etc on holiday and the Club 18-30 crowd puking their guts out all over the streets in the Costa's etc does shame Britain but nothing shames Britain more than its government
It surely depends where you look. Tbh rich Brits fund half the income in luxurious holiday destinations like Cuba, Florida etc so people cannot complain.
This was on gmtv, but I'm sure they said the French were worse then us.

I think the French and German are the worse, some I've come across are very rude.

Oh I find the French great but the Parisians are a bunch of stuck up tossers

Germans I find are great, get on brilliantly with the Germans I am around on holidays, same as I do the Dutch and Australians

Totally embarrassed by the way my fellow countrymen behave themselves abroad... So much so, that when I travel around Continental Europe, I make it very plain that I am Scottish... Believe me, there is a marked difference in the general way you are treated if you say you're Irish, Welsh or Scottish.....
im not ashamed to be british... but im ashamed that THEY are! footy fans and chavs should be banned from traveling tbh... its footy fans that are the biggest disgrace to our country.

I like your thinking Mate, but it would be wee bit beyond the pale to actually implement it though.... Unfortunately....

So many British people just seem to go on holiday with the express intention of getting as drunk as possible. That's their sole aim. Get pissed, vomit, sleep off a hangover, get pissed, vomit.....

Why do they even bother going abroad? They never see anything of the countries they are visiting. They'd be as well setting up a spare bed in the local Dog and Duck.

It isn't as sunny in the local Dog and Duck ;)

I doubt they even see much sunshine.....

Get to bed at 5am. Get up at 4pm.

They still want their strawberry dacquiris/insert remotely exotic alcoholic beverage here while they watch the sunset :P

no, i'm not ashamed at all. :coffee:
I'm not ashamed. Nor will I ever be. ^_^ But I agree with Rob's point!
Tbh theres no reason any of us should be ashamed to be British, as long as we arent culprits when it comes to giving Brits a bad rep abroad. I dont give a toss if the Jones family from Warwick is trashing a hotel apartment in the Maldives and making people scowl at the British, its not my fault.
So ashamed I don't even say I'm British on here  (with my flag I mean) then again the rest of my family is Irish and I have an Irish passport so I every right to say I'm Irish rather than British.
I always say I'm english rather than british.

The English largely through the connection with football and Tony Blair have the worst reputation abroad so it is hard to go another country and admit to being English

Anyone asks my nationality abroad I just call myself a Russian immigrant who lives in England

These days I only go on holiday to destinations where the footie yob type of person can't afford to go to, saw hundreds of Brits in Malaysia not one wore football shirts and sang "En ger land" in the streets, it was bliss hanging out with Brits of good culture
