Actually I was kinda angered by X Factor that year saying they were moving the release of their single out of respect for Band Aid...yeah, right...they just wouldn't have made it to number one if they had.

I useually love the race upto xmas no.1 last years was rubbish though -_-

Good years were ones like 2003 you had

Bo Selecta - Propa Crimbo

Darkness - Christmas Time

Fast Food Rockers - I Love Xmas Time

Cliff Richard - Santa's List

Billy Mack - Christmas Is All Around

Cheeky Girls - Have A Cheeky Christmas :kink:

Last year all we had was Ricky Tomlinson & Cliff

At least Cliff's releases are christmasy and im glad he does release at christmas but i reckon Spice Girls do have a chance for it this year if all their fans like the song and if it gets great reviews theres no reason why it wont beat the X Factor winner to #1

Btw is there anyway we can complain about X-Factor taking up the Xmas No.1

Only by persuading people not to buy it. If something as awful as last year's winner can make it to the top, there's not much hope really.

I think it was better than Shayne Ward's Thats My Goal though ^_^

Now with the new rubbish judges and rubbish presenter I hope the show now flops big time

I say bring back UK Idol.

Pop Idol ;)

Doubt Spice Girls will go for it, and IF they did, would hope they'd release a week earlier in hope of gettin #1 for one week at least. I think they probably learnt their lesson with the whole Westlife scenario to even contemplate generating a chart battle.
well spice girls are on the release schedule under 29th october so i cant see it getting christmas number 1 unless their VERY lucky lol

A second single could be out for Christmas week though. They've done that before haven't they

But they're only releasing one single?

Well, I've heard that there will be 2 new tracks on the Greatest Hits

There often is on GH packages, but I doubt they'll release both.

With the right PR, the right song and the right video I think that Kylie could be a contender. Particularly if there was a battle as people would rather have her over many otheres..

however, I don't think she'll go for it - it will be too close to the single promoting the album.

She should do a real christmassy new song - we need one of those. I am sick to death of Mariah!!

Hopefully there will be more Christmas themed songs this year with the download rule being allowed. As well as old Christmas songs re-appearing (don't rule out Slade, Pogues, Band Aid etc, all of whom are guaranteed a Christmas Top 10 placing), alot of bands release Christmas themed b-sides or download only Christmas songs like the Killers did last year. All of these will be allowed.

Madonnas new album will be christmas' no. #1!!!! or Michael JaCKSONS NEW ONE::

hopefully mariahs new release in spetember/october 2007 will sell more than TEOM
