September 28, 20204 yr I think that he way to undermine himself, put himself out as light entertainer and keeping things less serious put him in a certain corner which does not allow serious music press and people to recognize him. For me that is the reason people today see him more as cliff Richard rather than tom jones Although I'm old enough to remember when Tom Jones wasn't cool elisabeth - in the 80s . What he did though was kept recording with the younger artists- kept moving forward onto new things. RW does the same - he'll be alright. ;)
