The Sheilas plan chart assault

Be afraid. Be very afraid. They're back and they're still wearing lots of pink.

They're The Sheilas and they're coming to a music store near you.

Fresh from tormenting millions of TV viewers with their car insurance advertisements, the trio are now planning an assault on the charts.

Their planned world domination starts with the ridiculously overbracketed single (I'm So) Happy Happy (You're Mine).

It will be released in September but, for those unable to contain their desire to listen to synth-laden, pre-school pop, a sneak preview is on the Web.

The two 20-second snippets contain lyrics which some wags say would embarrass a six-year-old.

The song begins: 'Everybody wants the sun/Nobody wants the rain.

'Everybody wants the joy/Nobody wants the pain.'

So not a huge step forward lyrically from their advert, whose lyrics include: 'Women make the safest drivers/ We could save a bunch of fivers.'

Filming of the (undoubtedly pinkthemed) video begins next week.

Cathi, Emma and Carly's ditty has been put together by Stock, Aitken and Waterman, who enjoyed huge success in the 80s and early 90s.

'We're having fun at the moment,' said Pete Waterman. 'If people like it we'll do an album.'

He insisted there had already been 'phenomenal' feedback about the snippets, and said he was not concerned about any backlash.

'I wouldn't have done it if they weren't in an ad,' he added.

Oh dear oh dear!!!

 Pete Waterman is such a knobhead! This should be a larf though :P

:manson: I need a bigger one though, when you need one you can't find one

I just hope it does not catch on, the chart this year has been horrendous.

 i was hoping they'd release the Sheila's wheels song
It sounds like its trying to be I Should Be So Lucky without pulling it off - its rather rubbish
 I wonder if it will knock Umbrella off number one?

THAT WOULD BE CLASSIC.

The middle one looks like Bet Lynch's younger sister :manson:

I used to hate watching Charmed on LivingTV and their frickin wheels thing sponsored it, so we had to endure their ridiculous song on every ad break.

You know something? I ashamed to say this, and you can strike me down if you like but... from the small clips I've heard of this song, it doesn't sound half bad! About 15 years out of date, but surely we're die for a bit of a pop revival? Why, it could have been this year's Eurovision entry! Shame the 3 of them look like a bunch of munters. Oh well, I only have to LISTEN to them I suppose...
 I look forward to hearing this properly! It was only a matter of time tbh  Oh and The Sheilas are a PERFECT SWA act, it's almost as if they manufactured them!
