1.4 million ratings peak in Australia without catch up etc. The shows highest ratings since 2009, it also says its a huge jump for the show as its average daily rating in Australia is 100,000. This bodes well for UK ratings where the show is far more popular.

Dunno, we try to forget his pointless character was ever in Neighbours.

Ty Harper probably one of the worst characters in Neighbours.

Less than half an hour to go, just watched today’s first episode and am perched for this finale!
Another reason for me to hate channel 5, its not working tonight in my region but +1 is so i have to wait another hour to see it, a few friends of mine and family members are all tuned in tonight aswell and like myself are raging the channel isnt working.

That was a lovely finale, very much the mood the show should have gone out on. An absolute high.

Seems Channel 5 mixed things up from the Australian version. Different music, shorter end credits, Beth saying hello to Ned cut and poor Sky Mangel being cut altogether despite still being credited.

I thought the finale was brilliant it summed up what neighbours was really well I loved the little flashbacks mixedin, couldn't really have asked for much more.well done to the whole team to pulling it all off and it was emotional saying goodbye to it.
The short flashbacks just fitted in brilliantly, it really managed to summarise 37 years of the show. Its such an end of an era but great to see it go out on such a great high
This isn’t a pot shot at Kylie but on reflection I was a little disappointed with how little she actually said in her scenes. I understand her and Jason didn’t want to take to much of the attention away from the finale and I wasn’t expecting a Guy Pearce type contribution but something with a bit of substance would’ve been nice. Saying that it is great that she returned.
Of course i would have liked more lines from Kylie but i just loved seeing her back and appreciated it for what it was, i just really enjoyed that hour of tv, i was engrossed in it and it was just some lovely light enjoyment yet hugely entertaining, really couldnt have asked for more.

I think they filmed with Kylie and Jason before they’d actually figured the rest of the episode out so it’s not too surprising she didn’t say much. Considering they didn’t film with Guy Pearce or the rest of the cast except Paul, Jane and Harold, I thought it was pretty seamless and it really seemed like they were actually there. I’m also glad they didn’t hog the episode. Though iconic, Neighbours has always been more than just Scott and Charlene but it was great to see them. I was just loving how random Natalie Imbruglia was ‘yeah I don’t know either of you but congratulations!’

It was pretty perfect. I’d have liked to have seen Lou Carpenter and Lyn Scully back but you can’t have it all.

I don’t know where to start with that finale. It was perfect.

Absolutely loved the major focus on (the always wonderful) Jane and Mike, Guy Pearce would slot back in so well to the regular cast, both him and Annie Jones were fantastic, it was like a Hollywood romance plot. Fortunately we can now believe that he did move back permanently and that it went happily ever after.

Scott and Charlene’s appearance has been criticised but I’m glad they weren’t dominant in this, even if it would have been nice to hear Kylie say a little bit more than a few words.

So glad Izzy had such a big part in the last few weeks, I so adore her! And completely believe her need for acceptance, Nat Bass is such a fantastic talent who has played multi faceted Izzy incredibly.

Obviously the finale was heavily centred on the original 80s and stalwart 90s stars, which is fair enough, but the current regular cast weren’t left out. Bringing together Toadie and Melanie was such a good choice to bridge the show’s generations and have an excuse to bring all these people back. It’s been great to have Mel in this for the last couple of years, she’s so fun but serious when it’s necessary.

The guest stars! Loved the Natalie/Holly scene and all the videos (Delta, Margot!) - more than a massive lump in my throat throughout this.

But of course the final word has to go to Susan - WOW at that final monologue, all the awards should go to Jackie Woodburne. The ‘ghosts’ were so well done as a fleeting but very moving part of the speech (Hendrix and Mackenzie dancing <3, Sonya, Madge!).

Agree that I would have liked to have seen Lyn and Lou, maybe Dee smiling approvingly at the wedding too. But those are minor gripes in what was an incredible way to go out.

I now have NO idea what to do with my lunchtimes, this has been a mainstay of my life for so many years and enhanced my life in so many ways (not least thanks to it pushing Delta, Kylie, Natalie I and Natalie B etc to prominence). It’s been so great and I’m so so sad to see it go, but what a way to go out.

Apparently Tom Oliver was sick and that's why he wasn't involved so the tribute was his name was on the envelope teresa put the divorce papers in which was their way of acknowledging him which was nice. I'm going to rewatch it again to see if I can spot any more subtle hints.loved the flashback as it allowed Mrs mangel to be in the final who is an iconic neighbours character and Annie Jones pointed out her last day of filming was also Vivian's 6th anniversary of her passing.
