I think the Taodie Terese marriage is to build up an eventual affair, i think they will go for the surprise factor and it will be Toadie and Melanie who will have the affair hence the catalyst for both reuniting, i think the writers know everyone probably thinks Paul and Terese will be the ones having an affair but thats only my prediction.

Krista is probably my fave of all the new characters as i also think she is a great actress and didnt know of her before neighbours and think the character has huge potential.

The fall out from Sadie exposing Paul at The Waterhole has been decent. I expect it to last for a while yet.

I know the show wanted to relaunch with a huge ‘gotcha’ moment but honestly why are Toadie and Terese married. They don’t even seem to like each other and both still have the hots for their ex. We know where this is going, so hurry it up already. Ryan Moloney is also terrible in these angst scenes.

Also it’s unbelievable to think Toadie would get remarried TWICE within five years of losing Sonya. It’d be weird for a normal person but don’t the writers remember how long he kept putting off getting married to Sonya, the love of his life? And now he gets engaged to all the random neighbours.

My god, what is that Slade guy’s hair?
I have really started to enjoy the show truly for the first time since it returned over the last 3 weeks.
This never-ending storyline with Mel and Terese fighting like two schoolgirls over Toadie is actually excruciating to watch. When is it gonna end? :manson: The cringe of it all too...Mel walking like a catwalk model in that hideous dress to Walking on Sunshine to try and get Toadie's attention... :manson: :manson:

It might help is Toadie actually seemed like some sort of a catch. But given his general personality of the last decade has been ‘being a jerk’ and that this has amplified massively since the relaunch, I just can’t see why these two women are bothering. They can’t even say he’s a nice guy.

It really seems like they only put those two together as a gag moment for the first episode back, not realising it would have to shape the next few months :drama: They've not really invested anything into making them work at all, it feels like we’re right on the edge of them just ending up back with their exes which was totally pointless. The in between hasn’t added anything, and anyway there was enough going on with them having to put two random people together to ostensibly grab viewers. Melanie still could have left due to the drugs saga, and come back, and you still have Nell’s storyline, and Toadie struggling with her being back.

All we’ve got from them being together is excruciating scenes with negative chemistry and a boring storyline about them still pining for their exes and being more concerned if they’re ok then the state of their own marriage

Why is he called toadie anyway? He doesn't look par4igularly road like, unlike Farage

His brother was Stonefish/Stonie for some reason and then “Toadfish” became Toadie

This Slade stuff is so embarrassing as they’ve clearly miscast him. He looks 20 years too old and not intimidating at all.
They have definitely made a mistake in the casting of Slade, the actor is too old for the role and it doesn't help that he isn't a great actor, the must have had very few actors applying for that particular role to employ him or the actor knows somebody who could pull some strings.
Really enjoyed that 9000th episode. Lots of references to the past without being too on the nose of distracting from the ongoing story. The weak link, however, is absolutely Toadie. I don’t think many fans would be bothered now if he left for good. He’s nothing like he used to be and a chore to watch.
Ugh they just need to write Toadie out now. His character was destroyed long ago and Ryan Moloney’s angsty acting is atrocious. I cheered when Mel slapped him.

Agreed. Also when Paul said "this is the worst mistake of your life" about him cheating on Terese, I instantly thought 'apart from when he slept with Andrea and cheated on Sonya'.

A cheater once again, doesn't really look good for the family man pillar of the community.

I'm not hating toadie as much as others, I think when he eventually reunites with Melanie the character can be rectified enough for him to back to been the community man although I sense they are also building to a breakdown storyline for him before him and Mel are reunited.

I don’t want him and Mel reunited. The way he has treated her is disgusting. She been no angel of course but he got into such a sulk about her leaving that he got married WITHIN A YEAR, couldn’t be arsed listening to her when the truth was revealed, tried to take revenge on her for merely speaking to her former stepdaughter, shouts at her constantly for just existing in the same space as him and then blames her because he couldn’t keep it in his pants after being mildly inconvenienced for some afternoon plans. He’s a jerk and has been for the best part of 15 years. He’s even done this before to Sonya who was the love of his life. He’s a dirty cheat and we really need Susan back to call him out on it.

Terese also deserves better. Why on Earth is he being portrayed as some sort of prize?

I know the ‘big four’ are untouchable but Toadie isn’t as evergreen a character to me as Karl, Susan or Paul. Or even Terese and Jane. He’s a spent character who is going around in angsty circles. The only thing left for the character to do is leave.

And I met Ryan years ago, he’s a lovely bloke but the character is now so awful I can barely bare to watch him.
