It's been a wicked year for young Kate Nash- she fell down the stairs, broke her foot and found that actually, she could write songs. Kate fused poetry with performance and beats and has produced peerless pop confections. The first of these was 'Caroline Is A Victim' which sent myspace crazy. Kate has since signed to Fiction and gone from strength to strength, with 'Foundations' being her first proper single, with an album to follow in September. - HMV

Frankie Valli has had what you might call a varied career: you might know him best for the theme song to Grease and he was last spotted on TV coming to a grisly end as Rusty in the Sopranos. But as well as 'Grease' and 'Oh What A Night' the Italian American crooner has made some storming white soul records that over the last 30 years have been leapt on by the Northern soul and disco undergrounds.

'Beggin' is the track, a tune that, re-edited by Parisian DJ Pilooski on one of his ultra-limited Dirty Edits 12s on his own Dark & Lovely label, became a euphoric fusion of emotional Northern soul stomper and end-of-the-night, hands-in-the-air rave moment. Already a huge blog hit and a key record some of the best DJs in the world, 679 are bringing Pilooski's inspiringly good edit to a wider audience. - HMV

My mother actually went to see the Four Seasons went she was in college back in mid 60's and only a handful of people showed due to the bad weather and the time the concert of the show was going to the start and after a few songs, Frankie Valli notice the size of the crowd and said "Does anyone here get up in this town?".

True story, I'm not making this thing up. My mom has told this story at least a few times whenever a 4 Seasons song is begging played on an oldie station when we are driving.

I didn't mind it :arrr:

London Bridge was awesome, but big girls is better

Pity Kate was not number 1, it's better then the Lily Allen single smile which made #1.
